Help identify Peugeot

I just recently was a given this Peugeot. The bike was given to him and I did not ask if he knew the model or year of the bike.

At the bottom of the bike is what i assume to be the serial number. 1874040
I havent been able to find another set that would indicate the model.

here are some pictures of the decals and stickers on the bike. Ive looked at the peugeotshow site and some other sites but have not been able to figure out what the bike is.

the third decal says "record du monde"
it also has french made velox handlebar plugs. not sure if that is helpful or not in identifying the make.

it looks to me like it may be from 74. either the PX 10, p 10, or pa.

any help or answers you have would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

my guess is that this is a uo-8, not sure of the year, 74 or before. could be very wrong though...

It doesn't even resemble a UO8. More like a PA10.

Here's mine. Nothing but the brake cable clamps is original, but you can see that it's the same frame.

i think you may be right about the PA10.

i just found another site and the serial is in the same spot under the frame too.

thanks

well i guess a lot of the models have the serial there but it does look like a match.

I know I'm right. The PA10 is a fairly rare model. It originally came with tubulars and was their entry level race bike. Mine is a '74. It looks like yours is too.

I place no faith in Peugeot serial numbers.
