Two new/old bikes need help............

I have a Schwinn "Sprint" and a ladies "World Tourist". Both sets of tires are like pototo chips! I need new ones all around. Suggestions? The Sprint has 27 X 1 1/4 sized what I believe are glued on lace up or tubeless (tubies?) and the W.T. has what appears to be regular tubee tires 27 Xx 1 3/8. I also ride a Mongoose and would like to get these old war horses rolling again. Where do I start for tires and can I do these myself?? AND, are they worth it??

The sew ups may be tough...seems odd to have such "race" type wheels on bikes like this. You may want to see what your market is like for vintage 27" tubular might be able to sell them for enough to get a replacement clincher set. There are options out there for 27" replacement tires. IRC and Panaracer are a couple of favorites around the forums here. If you live near a Performance Bike they sell 27" tires under their house brand name.

Is it worth it? Well...are you planning to keep and ride the bikes? If so, then yeah. If you're planning to "flip" the bikes, then you have to weigh the cost vs profit.

27 x 1 1/4 are not sew ups they are clinchers if that is the label.
