I bought some new tools and a new cottered crank spindle for my Raleigh Grand Prix fixed gear project.
I figure since the spindle is made for a british 3 speed, and that since the british were obsessed with chainline in bikes with internal gearing, that a 3 speed spindle should be the correct length for a fixed hub spaced at 120mm like the Sturmey Archer AW I have. Hope it works.
Now I'm just working on getting the crank...

I stocked up on brake levers and calipers:

Modolo Pro levers and calipers
Modolo Speedy levers and Speedy calipers
Campy Victory levers
Record dual pivot calipers
Campy Record levers

I found 'em fair and square. I bought 'em all, and I am not even sure when I will use them. Most are in fabulous condition. Craigslist rocks! I'm thinking the Campy Record goodies will find their way to the Casati Gold Line S sometime in the spring.

I have a Soma Kamisori on my Panasonic. It's pretty comfy with cycling shorts. Not so much without them.

Just recently bought a set of inexpensive panniers: M-Wave double day trippers… So far I have been pleasantly pleased with them. They are nothing fancy, but I got them to the door from Meijer online for under thirty dollars.

I rode it around 25 miles this past weekend, wearing just cargo shorts, pretty comfy, just a little discomfort towards the end of the ride.

White/Black Bontrager saddle from my LBS's "take off" bin. My persistence paid off. I've been going in there every other day it seems like for probably over a week looking for a the right shaped white saddle for my Univega (without paying too much). Snagged it for $25

Handle to pick up the bike. Attaches to the downtube and seattube just above the chainring.

A new computer battery. I may just have to dig out the first generation Cateye with the large character display. The eyes are getting too weak to read the smaller display numbers on the current models. Of course, maybe it's a blessing in disguise, as I can't tell how slow I'm getting.

For my Trek 610, a Sachs-Huret New Success front derailleur to go with his new Sachs-Huret EcoDuopar rear mech, and a set of aluminum Sachs shifters to be converted from stem mount to downtube strap-on. Oh, and some French cables with the little round ends. Trek was wrong about Shimano. Next come the hubs!

I heard from San Marco that they are bringing out the Concor Supercorsa in yellow. It's shows up now on their website in the vintage section. My LBS is checking into getting me one tomorrow.

I didn't "just buy" the Grand Bois tires, but having just built the new wheels, I mounted them. They are hyped for a reason. I swear the things are alive. They practically push my bike down the road - and these are the skinny ones (26mm) .

Also just got the Velo Orange, plain aluminum mud guards (45mm). Not the easiest to mount, but I managed without botching it. I think they'll go a long way towards keeping the old Fuji nice and spiffy looking when it's wet out.
