Peugeot Identification - Please help
I have searched high and low and cannot find this exact bike. I have had it since the early 80's I believe.
No serial # on BB that I can see.
531 frame. Chrome fork with 531 decal.
Simplex headset and rear derailleur.
Stronglight Crank.
Campy handlebars
Spidel brakes
Mavic front derailleur
Laprade Seatpost
Frame color is mostly Red with down tube white.
The top tube is mostly read then has yellow/orange/red/white towards stem.
Can anyone tell me the model/year of this bike?
Thank you sooo much.

You'll need more/better pictures than that. If it is a Peugeot there is a serial number somehwere. It is there.
A few things dont look right:
1. I've never seen a 2-tone paint scheme like that
2. Peugeot didnt use high flange hubs on bikes with that decal scheme
3. Higher end Reynolds bikes had fast back seat stays...even the mid level bikes
4. Seat tube decal looks too low

If it is a Peugeot you'll need more/better pictures for proper identification. There is a serial number...somewhere.
Some observances:
1. Peugeot stopped using high flange hubs long before that decal scheme was used.
2. All (as far as I can tell) Peugeots with that decal scheme has fast back seat stays. Yours doesnt.
3. Seat tube decal seems too low.
More pictures of higher quality are needed.

seems like those rainbow decals are way out of place.

After reviewing the added photos I'll need a serail number.
Frame and fork features indicate it could be a Peugeot but those features do NOT coincide with the rainbow decal scheme. Bikes with rainbow decals have fast back seat stays and sloping crowned forks (at least the high end models)
Look clesly under the BB, if its a Peugeot (I think it is) there will be a serial number. If the bikes been repainted it may be faint.

I hope you guys crack this one as I'm quite interested in the results. The more I look at the two-tone paint the more I like it!

Ok, so I am blind
I found the serial #. Too little light, too much dust. Been hanging in my garage for years.
Anyway it is 0065277. It was on the BB.
I think 7 numbers tells me it is from the 1970's.

Oh and the pics
Sorry, I did not realize my built in camera on the macbook using photo booth would reverse the pic. The rest of the pics were taken with a "real" camera.
Thanks for your help. Looks like we are starting to zero in on the year and model.

Serial # update
I slightly moved the cable cover on the bottom bracket and I can tell there is another letter or number prior to the 0065277. I cannot really tell what the letter or number is.
Another 1/2 inch or so to the left of the number is a large P.

That doesnt loo like the typical Peugeot serial number but it doesnt rule it out either.....
Looks like a repaint.
I need HIGH RESOLUTION pics similar to that of:
1. The headtube from the side incuding the fork crown,
2. One of the seat lug cluster where the seat post goes in
3. Rear brake bridge
4. Rear dropouts
If the forum software kicks yur pics to the curb you'll need to host them on an outside site like photobucket or flickr
