Yes you may! I will add to the diversity. This might generate a chuckle
I found a suspension fork for my Rockhopper and was so excited to mount it that I didn't change the tires before taking pictures. Here is what it looked like after the tire swap and then before. An after/before set! http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3793/1...fca651ea_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7419/1...07242503_b.jpg And Now http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5550/1...5ebda35c_b.jpg Slicks are my preference as are extremely wide tires. The first photo is with the original tires that came with the bike, the second are 1.25 Fat Boys from specialized and the third are 2.3's. This last set is what I commute with. They work out just fine as a suspension system for the tree roots on the MUP. I don't really think they are much if any slower than the Fat Boys but definitely better than the knobbies. Someone commented the first time I shared the suspension pic that the geometry is all screwed up. It isn't when my weight is put on the bike, it settles down to the right geometry and rides normally. |
