Baltimore area Merckx

FS: Eddy Merckx MX leader complete bike

54cm c-c seat tube and top tube. Complete bike with silver alloy campagnolo chorus 10 speed build and tubular wheels (Mavic laced to record hubs). 170mm crankset. Very low miles and frameset almost appears new! Not re-finished, all original paintwork. Very hard to find MX leaders in this condition anymore with no rust etc. Priced accordingly and if seen in person you will understand. Cinelli bars and XA stem (120). No pedals or bottle cages included This bike has mainly been a wall-hanger in my office since owning it but sadly I must let it go. Local pick-up only. I split time between eastern PA and Annapolis so arrangements can be made anywhere between philly/baltimore/DC area.

By the way, can I just paste photo from the ad into my post without first downloading it into my pc? How?

Beautiful bike - but that's top of market for ebay with a record group IMO.

I agree with Aaron...that price feels a bit high on this bike...for a local only CL

The 610 got a LOT better as the years went on, but I don't think I ever saw one with a tin spoke protector.

Ted Wojcik lugged frame

[h=2]Ted Wojcik lugged frame (Merrimac)[/h]

condition: like new

Ted Wojcik lugged frame road bike. 56cm. As seen on his web site. This bike has less than 20 miles ridden. Absolutely like new. Capagnolo components. Triple crank. Ten speed cassette. Dede bar and stem. This bike can still be seen on Teds web site. One of a kind. Pedals and mirror not included. $4,000.

I was about to point that out. It's a nice bike, but, IMHO, if I spend $4K on a bike, I expect: A) a Warranty of reasonable duration B) A personalized fitting C) a top of the line component group

Raleigh Sports

if I were close to College Park , MD I would buy the bike if only to support this guy's ad writing.

Raleigh Sports Men's Bicycle

I am selling my 1973 Men's Three-Speed Raleigh Sports Bicycle.
I bought the bike for 120 dollars in 2010 in NYC. Since then, I have had it tuned up at least three times.
I had to ditch the vintage saddle (no, it was not a Brooks, but some other mattress-style replacement). Right now it has a commuter gel saddle, which I picked up for 40 dollars this past September.
The famed "double white sprite" tires finally gave out a few years back and I replaced them.
I live in a tiny apartment and have two bikes already inside. I really don't want to see this one collect rust. I also can't ride it much because of a bad knee. It's a three-speed, heavy (steel), and the University of Maryland has too many hills. I mostly use it for cruising the flatlands.
Question: Does the three-speed Sturmey Archer hub work properly?
Answer: Yes it does.
Question: Is 60 dollars firm?
Answer: Yes, the price is firm. The seat, the frame, the hub, and various parts alone, all sell separately for more than 60 dollars each. These bikes routinely sell for more than 200 dollars on ebay.
Question: I want to use the bikes for parts. How do you feel about that?
Answer: I feel pretty crappy about that. Please don't tell me so if this is your intention. I'd much rather sell it to a retro hipster who wants to attach the cool electrostatic light thing to the front, a vintage Brooks saddle, and side baskets to the back. Just pretend to really want to ride the darn thing.
Question: How close are you to the College Park Metro? Like, could I just ride the Green Line to you, buy the thing and jump back on the train?
Answer: Absolutely. I live about 50 yards down the street from the exit of the College Park Metro.
Question: I can't pick the bike up until Saturday. Is that cool?
Answer: I am going to sell it to the first good person who is able to pick it up and does not try to low-ball me. I will be in and out on Friday and Saturday.
Question: What are you going to ride?
Answer: I spent 60 bucks on really rusty Schwinn 10 Speed Suburban. Yes, you are getting a really good deal.
Question: Do you have a lock you could throw in?
Answer: For twenty bucks more, I will throw in a Kryptonite horseshoe lock.
Question: Are you in a rush to sell? Is this bike hot?
Answer: No. Have you ever just had a weird feng shui moment, where you are like, "Man, I just got to get rid of some of my stuff, even the stuff I love." I am having one of those moments.
Question: Are you good at selling stuff and making money.
Answer: I am positively awful at it. I cannot remember a time when I sold something for a profit.
Question: I think the bike is worth more than 60 dollars. Will you accept more?
Answer: Sure, give me 80 if you want.

Are you looking to overpay for vintage carbon?

I don't know what the seller is thinking, but $1300 is far too much to ask.
