Seems like a very decent price for what by all appearances is a respectable Italian steel-framed bike:

Racing Bike Viner Vintage Campagnolo | eBay

I will be the first to say it's not much to look at (at least to my eye), though that is a matter of personal taste.

These look pretty nice (the first one more than the second one):

80's 52cm Fuji Touring IV Road Bike 18 Speed Japan Brooks Campagnolo Ukai Nitto | eBay
Fuji Touring Series 4 Vintage Touring Bike Road Bike 80's Retro Small | eBay

The question is, how much are they overpriced by? I assume that they are (moderately) overpriced.

Oh, Man, I really wish I hadn't seen this. The temptation is actually painful.

Nice price, or Crack Pipe?

No he wasn't so he must be lurking here. All 412's and 414's were all Ishiwata 022 which is a sleeper tubeset, far better than people realize or knew.

This popped up on Classic Rendezvous this morning:

Very rare Handmade in USA Facet road bike with Campagnolo Groupo

I mention it mostly because of this bit from the description:

From what I have read this frame is Reynolds 531 tubing and was Trek built.
Perhaps some of the Trek folk here might find this bike interesting.

I guess we'd consider that NOS. Seller doesn't say much about the frame other than the repaint. The C40 is a great bike but I think that price is about $800 - 1K too much.

It's my size. So very very tempted, despite the lack of a decent shot of the entire bike.

The only Facet frames I saw built at Trek had the goofy BioCam bottom bracket. The lugs and dropout treatment on this frame don't look familiar to me.

Missing some pieces, but all the big-ticket items are present. Seller doesn't state what thread, but likely easy enough to find out:

Searching for "BioCam bottom bracket" led me to this old BF thread. That is, indeed, an odd duck (scroll down to @auchencrow's post #12 ). Most of the examples featured in that thread have more typical looking drivetrains. I wonder if they were converted from odd to normal. I suspect that might be the case. If you look at the image in #54 , notice and odd looking extra flange. Is that what you were referring to?

These are the frames I saw built at Trek:

The OP's bike is more conventional; unworthy1 speculates that the similar frames in the thread you mention may have been made in California:

1972/3 Peugeot PX10 57cm frame and fork

[h=2]1972/3 Peugeot PX10 57cm frame and fork - $275 (Milford)[/h] < >

condition: good
make / manufacturer: Peugeot
model name / number: PX10
size / dimensions: 57cm

Classic early 70's top of the line Peugeot PX10 57cm lugged steel frame in great shape. Full Reynolds 531. Comes with Stronglight head set and BB (both run smooth), stem and fork. Paint is in great shape with a couple of chips, some side stand marring on the chain stays. Decals are in very good condition too, non drive side Peugeot down tube decal has small scratch and some chipping to the edges of the seat tube 531 decal.
This is a great base for a build, the hard to find parts are there and in good condition.
I have tried to photograph any defects, please ask if there is anything you would like to know.

I know I'll never get around to building this one up, it's time to thin the herd, hopefully to upgrade my current rider.

Email or text, I will remove the once it's gone. $275

It's not too bad save the price. $300 is too rich for my blood.
