Bike and price are probably nothing exceptional, but certainly looks serviceable (nay, the color is actually quite nice) and the ask is reasonable.

It seems more like a racing bike with jerry-rigged fenders than a randonneur; no eyelets or other concessions to bad weather. Also the high shipping cost from France makes the deal not so good.

More sport touring than touring, despite the Mountain LX triple setup. Lacks canti brakes, difficult to fit fenders. I paid 30% less for a 531 Reynolds Trek 520 Cirrus, also with LX.

I would much rather have the bike above than a trek 520 cirrus at 30% less.

The whole "I paid xxx for a bike that isn't the bike we're talking about" thing is really pointless by the way, as is using your experiences with local sales and using that to advise on average ebay valuation.

While the rest are making fun, I agree with you, a Zeus bike with all Zeus stuff would be idea, while the Zeus was basically a copy of the Campy Super Record it actually looked better than the Campy due to the drillium effect, and a bike with all Zeus original factory specd bike is a lot more rarer than an all Campy specd bike.

KonAaron,
You are entitled to your opinion and same here. I don't understand your narcissitic attitude? I share my experiences from transactions in 2-3 markets I trade in, NYC area, SE Michigan, and upstate NY. I also share my personal experience on ebay and provide sold data as comps. Finally, while some seem members are in denial, I don't hide the fact that I like deals, refurbish and sell to build my own collection.

What does your trek elance have to do with the bike listed above? Absolutely nothing. How is that in any way a relevant data point? I bought a reynolds 531 raleigh Supercourse for $50. Is that relevant? I bought a 531 mooney for a lot more than that fench bike. Is that relevant?

Anyone in Reno area? This looks interesting depending on the condition. '91 Bianchi Grizzly, built with Ritchey Logic DB tubing, and if un molested has a complete Suntour XC Pro group. $175 26" Bianchi Grizzly Looks like a 21.5 so it might make a great drop bar conversion.

You could part it out and look for Zeus parts. At $188 you could make a profit on the Campy parts.

Anyone in Houston need small Bianchi in pristine condition? This was a great color scheme. https://houston.craigslist.org/bik/4892653112.html $299 may be a bit high but you may be able to haggle with the usual "it is way too small no one will want it" and "Well sure it hasn't been used much but it still needs a full overhaul because all the grease dried up"

57cm Landshark on Chicago CL ($1400). Not sure how C&V it is, but it's likely "old" in someone's book. No affiliation.

How cool is this! Something like $800US to your door. Pricey but very cool.

Hilary Stone The site for Classic and Vintage bicycles and their parts

T J CYCLES FLYING GATE 1982 Custom Touring build
Seat Tube (ctt): 24.5in (62cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 23.5in (59cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C with a brake drop of 53mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
In the 1970s Trevor Jarvis was a running an engineering company and was looking for an area to diversify into. Cycling and bicycles had always been an interest and was given a pre-war Baines Flying Gate frame which he restored. After riding it he was so convinced by the superiority of the Flying Gate design that he thought that this was the design to make. He eventually tracked down Willie Baines, one of the two brothers originally responsible for the design who gave Trevor the rights to the Flying Gate design. Trevor started TJ Cycles in Burton-on-Trent and then in 1984 he moved to Tenbury Wells. This frame was a custom order for Vernon Cleeton in 1982 and has many special features – braze-ons for cantilever brakes, concealed rear brake cable bosses for racks front and rear and two bosses for front lights on the forks. Unfortunately it has lost its racks but none the less is still very special. Its in very good condition; the paint is in very good to excellent condition. £375

Decent price for a nice looking bike, I asked the seller about condition and he sent me some photos and it looks pristine. The tubing is Columbus Cromor.
