Made of Mithril 531, which can no longer be found, from the Mines of Moria in the Second Age of bikes, it is an ancient randonneur. However, it appears that many of the components of power have disappeared in the Third Age. One must likely venture into land of Mordor-bay to find the One Grouppo to rule them all.

1973 Schwinn 12-speed Touring Paramount New Paint and braze-on shifters/cable stops, cable guides and rack braze-ons. 23" Size C-C. Approx. 56.5 cm C-C. Serial #L73xxxx
Original Campy components, Cinelli oval logo stem and Brooks Pro saddle in excellent lightly used condition. Saddle was very nicely customized with holes on sides vintage style.
Updated components: Nuovo Record Brake Calipers but levers are Gran Sport with Shimano hoods. Suntour bar end ratcheting shifters, Suntour XCD rear derailleur, Suntour 6 spd freewheel and newer 64x40 Cinelli Giro d'Italia bars are excellent and barely used.
*Rigida 27" rims are true and look new. NOTE: This frame was intended for 27" wheels. The long reach Nuovo Record brake shoes are nearly at the bottoms of the calipers and the rear has a drop bolt.
Frame was professionally repainted when braze-on fittings were added. Only scratch is a hairline on the left chainstay, but too small for photo. Original chrome looks good. It is missing all of the seat tube Paramount/Schwinn decals as well as the splitter stripe decals between the chrome and the paint on the fork and rear stays.

I believe this one is made with 531 chocolate chips.

Located in beautiful Westcliffe Colorado, 81252... worth the drive just for the views.
