I know no more than the seller about old tandems, so $300 seems like a high price for a rough old bike with cottered cranks and stamped dropouts and rusty chain, but it might be a nice price for something unusual. However, posting because I think a mixte tandem is cool, and the difference between cockpit and stoker sizes might make it great for a parent and kid. This with a huge freewheel and barcons and cantis might be a touring bike?
I promised my wife if she ever humored me with a tandem we'd get something modern I didn't need to spend a year and hundreds of dollars to fix up, so this is out for me anyhow.

I rode one of these Softrides once on a long test ride and it was very comfortable, so comfortable you barely noticed road imperfections, but kind of had an odd bobbing sensation while cranking which I'm sure I would have gotten use to it had I purchased it, but decided against primarily due to its weight was on the heavy side for a road bike.
