Miyata 1000 Vancouver - $400 OBO for Miyata 1000. ( looks like an early 80's) Has front & rear rack & appears to be in good condition. Seller just states 'all original'. It's 54cm which is basically my size but I just... don't really like that colour blue/aesthetic. And need to maybe sell a bike if I want to pick up another anyway...

Oh man, such a pretty old bike, same color as my P10-9, but so much rust. I don't know what the premium would be for a collector's item. It doesn't seem like two grand on its merits as a bicycle. But if you just want a really good tandem, you can find a very nice one of more recent vintage for a lot less. I think I'll be in the market for one in about two years, but in the meantime here's what I can find here:

It's not that uncommon to find complete Santana and Bilenky builds for $1,000 and less.

I believe that 'Traut is still at Coco's Variety. One of the regulars on CR volunteers there, I believe. I'm surprised they haven't sold it yet. (They also have a nice Olmo, BTW.

I contaced the seller, and because of the photos being taken outside, asked him if this bike is kept outside. There is a bit of a language barrier, but he said it is kept outside. The photos don't show any rust (that I can tell) but now I'm not sure if I want the bike, or not.
Perhaps I shoud just go check it out - it's about 45 minutes from me.
