Just wait till the price drops.

Scott- Boulder

Scott Boulder Mountain Bike - $400 obo

1994 Scott Boulder in pristine condition. Looks like new with no scratches, dents, rust, etc.
Full Shimano Deore LX components: brakes, levers, shifters, derailleurs, crank and hubs.
I replaced the standard knobby tires with Ritchey "Slick Rock" slicks for city riding.
20.5" frame, 32.5" stand over.
I bought this brand-new at Crosstown Cycle, and rode it gently around the lakes for a few years. It's been in dry indoor storage ever since. Need the space, so I thought I'd sell it.

Maybe the market is heating up but my buddy sold his original-paint-and-components '72 track Paramount for a third less than that a couple of years ago.

In the Chicago market, take prices and double them.

There is a town in New York state named "Climax", which the 13yo in me finds hysterical.

Then you'd love U.S. 220 south of Greensboro NC, which features an exit for:

High Point

They want to make sure you understand.

I used to live in High Point, when people would ask where that was, I could legitimately reply "between Horneytown and Climax".

get yourself a little piece of bicycle history and a nice rider to boot

57cm Basso Road Bike bought from Connie Carpenter Phinney - $820 (Boulder, CO)

Red Basso frame about 57cm. I bought this bike from Connie Carpenter Phinney in 1985, just a year after she won the gold medal in the 1984 Olympics. It is in excellent condition and may be either a collectors item, display piece in a bike shop, or rides great if you want. I haven't ridden it in a long time and I'm not displaying it either so decided to get it into the hands of someone who would enjoy it. It has always been stored indoors so is in great shape, with some wear from the previous owner (as might be expected).

Details:
Red Basso frame. It has Raleigh stickers on it because that was the team Connie was riding for at the time. I don't know the story of why she had a Basso with Raleigh stickers on it. Maybe it was a better bike? Don't know.
Campagnolo super record derailleurs, cranks, brakes, shifters, etc.
Dura Ace Post
Cinnelli stem and bars
Campagnolo Lambda Strada wheels that have never been ridden on.
Still has the pedals with toe clips that I bought it with. I have a set of Shimano SPD clipless pedals that come with the bike. I bought them but never put them on.
I have the signed receipt Connie gave me when I bought it. It goes with the bike.
It is a beautifully made frame and would be great for taking those weekly group rides.
There's no doubt that the newer bikes with all the new technology are better bikes. But this one is more like driving a classic Ferrari than a Nissan Nismo. It rides great.
I don't know what this bike is worth or what purpose it would serve best. I'm putting a price on it but am willing to listen to offers.
