One of my Virginia dealers had one of these many years ago. Did not really need restoration, just a good cleaning and lube.

I think it's back up on a different CL. Lots of photos. Hugely optimistic pricing and a stuck caps lock key. How can something be prewar and WWII at the same time?

Tall modernized Eisentraut for under $1k?

Eisentraut Road - $999

Handmade Rainbow Traut.

Seat tube: 63cm, c to t
Top tube: 58cm, c to c

Great riding bike, super quick yet comfortable with modern parts. This was semi-custom with eyelets for fenders. Campagnolo cyclocross compact double crank, Record racing T derailleurs. I'm running a "Shimergo" setup with Centaur 10 shifters on an XTR 8-speed cassette and it shifts perfectly. Dura Ace hubs on Mavic Open Pro hoops. Rivendell Marks bar. Campy seat post. Avocet saddle. Very light for a bike this size. Frame has a few light nicks in the paint, but great shape for its age. Pedals not included.

Hub polisher. It only works if you actually ride the bike, which doesn't appear to be the case with this example.

If I didn't already have one, I'd be all over this! Albert built the best steel race bikes EVER!

Kind of odd that it has eyelets: there's no room for fenders and it's not made for racks/luggage (mine has a 38.5" wheelbase, 16" chainstays and a 74.5 deg head angle - this one looks pretty much the same).

Thinking the same thing about those eyelets. Occasional rack use?

Whatever though, the frameset is a beauty.

I would build it differently, but that's just me.

I'm sure the short coming is my taste, but like most Eisentrauts, this does little for me. The eyelet thing looks poorly thought out.

Kind of like the eyelets on my Hollands.

Far less than useful.

At least I was able to get the Tubus on its front fork with the mid-fork mount.
