[h=2]Schwinn Premis Bicycle For Sale - $100 (Saint Paul, MN)[/h]Schwinn Premis Bicycle For Sale

Schwinn Premis road bike for sale. It's in good shape. There are a couple of minor scrapes/scratches on the frame, but nothing major. The gears do catch at times when shifting, so the bike either needs a tune-up or some new hardware. The tubes have just been replaced. The beads look to be in OK shape too, but they are pretty old. The handle wrap is a little damaged on the bottom of the left hand side (the cap fell out), see the attached photo.

This was a one-year model from 1988. If you are looking for information you can click on either of the two following links:
https://bikecatalogs.org/SCHWINN/1988/LightWeight/FULL/1988_16.jpg
https://bikecatalogs.org/SCHWINN/MODELS/Premis.html
The bike weighs 22 lbs and is comfortable to ride. Note that the shifters are on the frame.

Frame size = 23"/58 cm (length of seat tube from axle to top - sized based on center to top How Do I Measure a Bike Frame?)

I am 5'-9" and I can ride it with the seat all of the way down. The previous owner was 6'-2" and he said it fit him fine.

Let me know if you have any questions. Test rides/pick-up would be in the Cathedral Hill area of St. Paul. I'm asking $100 for the bike, I'm not willing to go below that.

Thanks!

Kinda rough, but interesting bike. Price isn't a steal at 350 but does include some a 531 frameset, dynamo hub, 650 VO Rims, and looks like a TA crank. 650b Low Trail 53cm

Local to me, but does that seem a little steep for 8 speed Veloce?

Looks like they're still around:

This is a weird one, it gets posted all over the country, I've seen it in NYC and Houston and it is currently posted in Portland. Some kind of a scam I guess.

The fact that the specific location is listed as "central" doesn't inspire confidence, either.

Agreed.

While I wouldn't build that frameset the same way, it looks like a decent enough deal.

That frameset is the show.

FWIW the seller's number is merely an asking price.

This De Rosa is cheap because the seatpost is stuck, I'd go for it if I were local. I bet it could be had for $400, the seller seems very honest about the condition.

Wow, 17 lbs with Veloce? I built up a titanium frame with 350g carbon fork and it still crested 19lbs with 10s Veloce and Vuelta Corsa Lites. I must be doing it wrong....

Bring a scale with you and ask the guy for $100 off for every pound over the 17lbs advertised and you could probably get it for $1000
