So what's up with this? Why isn't it selling? I'd love to have it!

I bought a bare frame (around $300, as I recall) and built it up with parts I already had. If the Avocet crank bothers you, I imagine you could find someone to swap you for a Campy SR. It also looks to have a first gen SR rear derailleur, which is likely correct for the bike. Ask the seller for the patent date. I doubt it will be later than 1978. In general, the earlier, the better, at least in terms of eBay sale possibility, should that be your route to a more reasonable price. It's also got a four-hole NR front derailleur (beginning of the post-CPSC era). I think that was one-year-only, also 1978. My biggest worry would be that huge scrape on the back of the right fork leg, and what it might imply about the integrity of the frame. How the f*ck does something like that happen? You have to assume the tubulars will need replacing, otherwise wouldn't the seller have at least inflated them? Even a little? Unless the pump is completely non-functional.

You can figure out the year from the serial number (ask the seller - it's under the bottom bracket). It will start with a backward "K", followed by (I think) five, maybe six digits. I have the decoder around somewhere.
If you could find that I'd appreciate it for use on mine. I also agree with your analysis.

The paint is funky doodle.

Someone was high when they painted it.

Needs to be re-shot or just ridden with the bad paint.

Really a beautiful bike.

It will go way out of my price range.

Way too small anyway.

Corsa Extra in nice shape with full dura-ace 7400. $800 seems pricey?

Chrome forks always make me suspicious of frame damage, unless it's obvious the fork is original to the bike.

Looks sweet.

Haven't seen that color scheme before this example.

Doesn't look like a repaint.

Price is fine if it fits.

I'd be debating spending the weekend in Chicago if it was my size. Want a Corsa Extra badly and I dig that highlighter green.

Unfortunately, not my size either but I agree the paint scheme is nice. $800 still seems a little pricey to me but maybe that's just what the market is these days.

Patience!

The right one will turn up.

A nice riding frameset is worth waiting for.

The Cannibal just turned 70. I'm sure there was a flurry of ink in the cycling press about that. Might serve to boost prices, or at least sellers' idea of suitable prices...

Chris Kvale tourer - For the long legged aficionado

I may have posted this before, so sorry in advance if I have.

Chris Kvale lugged touring frame/fork/pump

PLEASE NOTE: I am moving out of the Bay Area this weekend, so you must be able to pick this bike up before noon Saturday if you want it.

Chris is known for his great lugs and this frame proves his reputation.

60.5cm seat tube (center of BB to center of top tube), 57cm top tube (center of seat tube to center of head tube), 126mm rear spacing, thoughtful braze ons for fender mounting, clearance for 28s or 30s with fenders, maybe 35s without fenders, internal top tube routing, double eyelets front and rear, low rider rack mounts on the fork, painted to match silca pump.

Some rust here and there, nothing too bad, would make a sweet commuter or touring bike.

$650 for frame, fork, and matching pump only. Pick up in San Francisco. I will not ship.

I think that black Kvale in Oregon has been for sale for a while. I remember that seller advertising a while back in Minneapolis market because Kvale is a little well known around here. Nice bike.

Yes, now I remember that one as well.

It's very pretty and it has been refinished by Chris Kvale.
