There are...this one is actually the earlier De Rosa builder. He's from southern italy. I have no idea how the IP was worked out between the two, but they use different symbols and panto marks.

Ugo De Rosa is Milan - he's the one you think of when you hear De Rosa.
This is Rafaele De Rosa - a southern italian builder.

This one is interesting ~
***Custom Handbuilt Vintage Race Bike for Sale -- Cinelli Didier Louis

Custom Handbuilt Vintage Race Bike for Sale -- Cinelli Didier Louis - $1895 (inner sunset / UCSF) < >

Selling two very special bikes from my collection:

1) Custom Didier Louis Race Bike (approx. 55-56 cm) $1895 -- This is an extremely rare opportunity to own a truly unique, very light, classic French racing bike. The frame was custom built by Didier Louis in 1979 for a racer who competed on the bike from 1979 to 1983. I purchased the bike from a collector in France who purchased it directly from the racer himself. I have the name and contact information of the racer and will provide it to the new owner. The racer said that he competed on this bike in the Tour de France during those years, but as I have no verification of that other than his word I am not advertising the bike as such. I encourage the new owner to contact the original owner and research the history of the races, events, and life of this bike. If it is indeed a Tour de France bike, its value would be many times higher than this asking price.

I've never seen another vintage race bike like this one. Notice the curved seat tube, internally routed rear brake line, and fillet brazing -- absolutely beautiful. This bike is a work of art and rides as good as it looks. Super light and great handling. Also notice the "DL" engraved on the custom forks and the interesting red decals on the grey Mavics, likely denoting the rider's team. Additionally, the bike is 100 percent original and unrestored, adding to its value. This is not a repainted Colnago with an assortment of NOS components. This is a time capsule. It currently is mounted on display in my home .

The bike has Columbus tubing and Cinelli lugs, and top of the line components throughout: Campagnolo Nuovo Record front and rear derailleurs, Cinelli stem and bars, Modolo Equipe brakes, Spidel Pro hubs laced to Mavic GP4 rims, Spidel crankset, Super LJ shifters, San Marco Turbo saddle.

Some history on Didier Louis: He started his frame-building business in Le Flers, Normandy in 1975, and in the early 1990s moved to the Parisien suburb of Montreuil where he took over the workshops of the renowned builder Bernard Carre. Didier also supplied frames to better-known riders such as Marc Madiot, Thierry Marie and Charlie Mottet.

Maybe the seller doesn't know either (if one wishes to give him/her the benefit of the doubt).

I agree too, someone tall needs to get that bike and get it fast, it looks to be in really nice condition too. It's got the same paint color and decal scheme my Le Tour Luxe has which has gotten more comments on than any bike I own except for the Lynskey. Make sure the seller gives you the pump too because that's a classic and a very well built frame pump that was great for beating dogs with, I still have mine from the 80's but it's in my bookshelf now along with my Silica Impero from the same time period.

I second that. I used to have a black Zefal--it popped off the frame, fell into the road and a car promptly ran over it, completely flattening the barrel like a crepe. I pounded it back into shape and it worked fine.

Arguably overpriced for Columbus Cromor, but the parts seem reasonably good.

^ It says measurement is the length of the seatpost. If they mean seat tube and it was measured from the top of the BB to the bottom of the top tube, that sounds about right.

Hey Rocket Sauce, not trying to hijack the thread or anything but I have a question. I came upon an old post of yours, with pictures of your 88 Trek 560. Do you happen to know what tubing that specific model had?

Nothing high-end, but a decent deal for a early/mid-70s Peugeot UE-18 and a Takara Deluxe Sport for local pickup in Conway, NH for $150 OBO, motivated seller. eBay item 281734835304. Accessories on the Pug would eBay to recoup your expenses. Fenders and rack can go for half the current asking price.

I am surprised no one pointed this, there can't be too many of these wheels still around. I wonder if that was a team bike at one time.

He's still far too high for a CL sale with a parts mix. These are BEAUTIFUL frames, but not many bikes sell for $1000 on CL...the ones that do are worth $2000+.
