MiloFrance = I hope someone here can help you and arrange to purchase as well as ship that Holdsworth for you. I missed out by one day after purchasing a chrome Garlatti frame locally but certainly would have picked up that Holdsworth otherwise.Unfortunately I do not have a car anymore although only about 2-3 hours away in Canada, wish I could do something but it probably would have been difficult for myself to get down there in time come to think of it. I do hope you can get it as it is obviously a nice one at a pretty decent price, I mean they sell basic gas pipe bikes out here for more! It would be great to see someone here build it back up and have it on the road again.

Kind of cool....I wonder how they compare in function to modern folders.

This is the bike that started the "rides like a noodle" turn of phrase.

Finally a Merckx posted in Austin! A tad over-ambitious on the pricing with that mix of left-overs on it.

Can't say I woulda done the same, but I get the motivation. Could attract a buyer somewhere, esp for that price.

I actually really like it. I've actually seen a fair number of older italians end up in configurations like this, and the older geometry really wears it well. I'm planning on doing something similar to an italian soon.

Very whippy. Your body weight is perched on the end of a loooong alloy seat post and your hands are grasping grips at the end of loooong alloy handlebars. "Wet noodle" is the phrase that comes to mind. My boss at the old shop had one of the first. He was a pilot and was always looking for the newest in collapsing/folding bikes to stash in a plane. I rode his Bickerton and DaHon and was much more impressed with the rigidity of the latter.

Hang the Bickerton on the wall and admire it for its historical place in the evolution of compact machines, but ride one at your peril.

Univega Competizione. I went to look at this since it's close, had bad photos and the seller had no idea about the components. It's about a 24 1/2" seat tube so 1 size too big for me. I rode it and it all works but needs a major tune up. Spokes have cob webs. Nice kid. And the seat post moves but it appears to be an aero post pushed in way too far. I have read this was the same bike as a Miyata pro in the early 80's.
