I couldn't pass on it for that price. A bit dirty and needs a tuneup but it is in pretty good condition.

Chinook

I spoke to the owner 3 hours after he listed it. the plan is for him to come out to my place tomorrow. I have a 1987 De Rosa Professional Frame in his size.

The Chinook looks beautiful and I can't wait to see it. Right now I am trying to figure out what we should do to make the trade fair. As BG himself puts it, refering to a Chinook wrongly advertised as a Bruce Gordon...
" The frame is a Chinook road frame that I made, but, it is NOT a Bruce Gordon frame as the decal says... ...I’m not saying that it is a bad frame – just not what it is being represented as."

In this case there is NO misrepresentation. I expect we will figure something out. The owner seems like a man who loves riding and loves bikes.

I have a 1976 'Traut Limited, which is a similar bike in concept (small production frame from custom builder). It may be even more similar, Bruce Gordon may have ben the one who built it. The Limiteds do not command especially good prices.

Hope to have more to tell tomorrow...

Cheers, Eric

So you're the bugger he meant when he said he'd get back to me, he's working on a trade! It's a beautiful bike - hope it works out well.

As far as the production thing...in some ways that's a good thing, a production bike is sure to be more standard geometry. I've ridden a few spectrums and I like my merlin more (though I'd surely prefer a spectrum made for me). In any event - that's a bad arse bike built by one of the very best!

I understand that these big-rivited Brooks are desirable. Front and rear racks. Plus bar-cons!

This one is kind of tempting. Very nice condition and sitting at a decent price with that Superbe shift group on it.

I love bikes like this, although I can't imagine my kid actually riding one when he's briefly old enough to fit it.

Here are the two Trek 330s I got today and the Nishiki Colorado I picked up last night. The guy that sold me the Treks said he was getting rid of stuff because he was moving some place Internationally.
