I thought that bike looked familiar (I believe it showed up in the "show me your Miyata" thread too).
So I wonder if the guy has a 112 and is passing this picture off as that bike or does he have a 1000?

I work close to this bike. I am going to go look at it on my way home from work tonight. I asked if the photo was of the bike and they said yes. I will snap a photo of the real bike to compare. Lol

That's actually about right. An Arabesque is probably at the top of most collector's list, a NOS frameset is unheard of.

That makes a De Rosa 35th seem like a bargain (and I suspect there were more arabesques made since it was around for two years). Would an Arabesque collector really pay that for one without the gruppo?

I missed out on the Casanova sweepstakes (someone 'bought it now' while I was busy trying to negotiate a better deal). Maybe it was for the best -- the size was maybe 1-2cm more than I would have liked, though I certainly would have been able to ride it.

@KonAaron Snake, this is low priority, but if you have a link to the bike on the Paceline forum that you mentioned, that would be appreciated (tried searching for it but came up empty). Thanks.

This was posted in Vancouver yesterday at something like $150? $200? with the title "Zunow Hummingbird" and the post was quickly removed after 3 hours. They must have been flooded. Provided it's not stolen, they've now re-posted it with "best offer" and no listed price (they say it was left behind by a roommate...):
Moving! Old Road bike have to go.. good condition

The picture is actually from https://www.flickr.com/photos/kizmkk/2409460041 which is 7 or 8 years old and so either they googled what they saw on the bike and found a matching photo or they're just generally fishing for pricing?

I've had my eyes open for Campy Doppler (retrofriction) shifters for awhile. I looked and looked and looked, and all I ever saw were Synchro shifters. Then this:

Vintage Campagnolo C Record Shifters | eBay

While I'd still like a set, not enough to spend $109 to get them home from Poland. And I don't feel like haggling with an offer. Besides, I have another set of Simplex retrofriction shifters winging their way to me from France. So, someone else can have these.

Whatever it is, that's not the bike in the original listing.

No worries, those aren't Doppler levers, they're Synchro.

Thanks for the help. I thought Synchro levers either had a little second lever or had the same diameter levers on left and right.

Does someone have examples of both which they can photograph side-by-side?

Local bike:

No idea if the Dura-Ace components in question are high-end, but in any case, $450 for SLX tubing seems like a pretty good buy.

No pics but the Synchro I has the extra lever for friction shifting. Those look like Synchro II and the seller doesn't mention what insert it has, which is important to match your freewheel and can cost you anothe $30+ if you don't get the right one.

It was a tiny 112 and the guy admitted to lifting the picture. It was still a nice bike in great condition. I told him he should just take a picture of his bike and put it in the listing.

Good to know that these bikes appear on the YVR CL from time to time. Almost makes me feel like I'm not wasting my time checking. Almost.

Curiously, another Zunow appeared the next day. Poster said he/she was taking offers because he/she "knew nothing about bikes."

Yeah, this is the one. Not sure what to make of it. A five second search of google turned up that it wasn't an original picture. Wonder what the deal was?
