The paint is tired, but provided that it's straight, it's about the right price.

Dang... Anyone close enough to facilitate? I have a much-too-small PX-10 hanging in the garage. Its miniscule size is one of the reasons I haven't done anything with it yet.

Nice find! No wonder it hasn't been ridden in years. Some obvious but check out how the front derailleur is mounted.

Brilliant Miele TT Time Trial Steel Frame Refunded Excess Shipping | eBay
I think the eBay listing has it right. It looks like a Gardin TT frame, and I've seen some interesting custom funny bikes from Gardin, including some Olympic TT bikes.

The question is whether the fork belongs or not. It could be that they swapped forks and repainted both the same color. Or Gardin, who was in the same region as Miele made a deal.

Not a bike I'd ride, but interesting nonetheless. I wonder if Cromor was used because thinner tubes were not up to that kind of bending.

Seller 'wings it' on prices. Way out..... if you catch my drift. Sort of sad as none of this stuff will sell and its rotting, rusting, oxidizing. Spotted lots of neat components, 60's era. Early Shimano enthusiast would love it. More junk than anything though. Peeked in a window and could get a glimpse of some good stuff. He did mention of recently cutting up some 60 lot for scrap.

Seller is definitely an odd duck. 80% of the bikes outside are rotting, corroding and UV zapped. The best range of bikes left outside are mid-level. Nothing of Dura-Ace, 600, Campy. His fully serviced (only a few gas-pipe low end) do have some oil on the chains and cheapest generic China replacement tires.

Scenario: Walk in the bike boneyard, next to used cars for wholesale and retail.
Seller "what do you want?" (Being its a family friendly forum, I'll skip the sellers tone and his every sentence using the F word.)

Me: Older 3 speed or lightweight vintage.

Seller directs me to Sears upright 10 speed. Tells me its made in Austria, so its good ya know. Yeah, OK. Bent fork, plastic Simplex cracked, among all the other issues with it. Too much to write here but hilarious reply from seller that the fork is not bent and nothing is wrong with the bike.

Moving on. Tells me he selling out and then he's sold out, or same song as last year....lol. Just sold or scrapped 150 bikes, but today its 60 bikes, whatever and it all sounds screwy.

He points to a Benotta... clapped out and older corroded Shimano stuff. Rotted tires, spokes all rusted, corroded frame especially nasty around the cables guides top tube. Told him not interested. He replies "everyone is an expert". OK now, moving on...

I spot a de-badged, no decal steel lugged bike with cheap older Shimano stuff, rotted tires. Ify at best but potential. If the poor bike could talk, I'm sure it would be begging for me to adopt and give it a life.
I ask how much? Seller replies $175. Yikes and I politely decline. I look around some more and he yells out, "make an offer, it all (effen) has to go." Yada, yada.

Next I see a Motobecane Grand Tour with Suntour Mountech, triple, scissor action Weinmann centerpulls. Its another well rusted bike, rotted tires, frozen brakes, cables, rotted pads, crank nearly seized. I offer him $40.

I'm laughing now, the seller tips over the edge and tells me to just leave. Told him, now I know why you're stuck with 3,000 POS bikes. Tells me, "well, its all paid for".
Jeez, whatever that means and I sure hope so!

Oh yeah, one more. I spotted this leaning on a shed. What the??

Anybody want a Cemtorion Ironman?

C'mon, you know the brand, the one made by Tom Scott! I think it's a lot like the Centurion Ironman Dave Scott. Anyway, for $100 someone should go to Bakersfield, get this, and give it a proper home.

1964 Raleigh three speed Roadster bicycle

1964 Raleigh three speed Roadster bicycle - $225 (Highland Park) < >

\

Here's a superb example of a classic early 60s Raleigh three speed Roadster, made in Nottingham England. Roadsters used "roller-lever" brakes operated by rods, instead of cables. The wheels and internal workings are excellent. Has some surface rust; the rust on the chrome comes off very easily with some bronze wool. It includes two new in the box 28" inner tubes and the famous one piece Raleigh bike wrench. It rides like a dream and will last until long after you and I are gone. Come and try it out!

That saddle and that stem make for a relatively short reach, though.

Suntour Superbe RD, FD, and clamp-on shifters. Should clean up nicely. It's been up for at least a week, so the seller would likely accept a lower offer.
