Probably low-end, but you don't see Garlattis every day. Might make an interesting project.

Looks pretty good to me. I don't see a pie plate, reflectors anywhere, or turkey levers, so it can't be that low-end The half-chromed stays are also a promising sign. Heck, it might even have 531 as its main tubes!

The seller might not know much about this bike, but it's an '85 model with triple butted tubing and 105 6 speed. Asking $95

Yeah, chrome socks front and rear suggest a decent quality frame, and that looks like a decent Ofmega crank as well.

I'm friends with the owner. He will come down a bit on price.

I've been to his home, bought a couple of his lower-priced offerings. He has several beautiful, pristine bikes, and is a super-nice guy.

I would love to have a bike in that color. It would have to be a bigger frame and couldn't be a Super Prestige since I already have one of them.

Chrome socks front and rear means it's a decent quality frame? I'll remember that the next time I see a vintage Ross, or a mix 70's Fuji S10 and Gran Tourer SE, or Sekine SHC, Star, Sears Free Spirit, and thousands of others. Bike companies did a lot of chroming even on cheap bikes to make them sparkle and attract customers like a fish being attracted to a lure.

That Garlatti is a low end bike and in the pics it appears the front end is slightly bent inward, could be a camera illusion. However it is an interesting bike. Garlatti was more about flash then quality but they did make a one really nice one called the Ives Corsa and a second one but lower heavier frame Wander Corsa. But the one pictured here on this post is the low end stuff they put out which you can tell by looking at the spoons, the spoons is the shape of the stays ends that are brazed to the seat tube at the top, those are just rounded instead of shoveled out thus the term spoon.

I think that Garatti is the model Vendu which was made in 1962 also released as a "brand" called the Bambini but with different but low end components, these were both the exact same paint and decal scheme (exception being just the name) with lugged gas pipe tubing not even close to 531. Obviously the above CL Garatti has had it's cottered Crankset replaced with a more modern one, the original was probably just a single gear not doubles which means the shifters and the front derailleur are not original, nor are the brake levers.

I think for a bike like that to not have the original components is far overpriced, but it does have that fishing lure flash to it that will fool someone into thinking it's a rare high end bike from the 60's.

Real potential right there.

Just a few changes and it would be a champ.

They ride great.
