That doesn't surprise me. I've been over to Bob's basement bike-cave when he we lived in Chicago, and he had a most impressive collection of vintage bikes. He's also an awesome guy.

The seller doesn't seem to be able to identify this bike. Can you?
And a sort of celeste color which is interesting. And I'd vote, no, it's not from 1972, maybe if it had a nice frame material, another evaluation would be in order.

Raleigh Technium Tri Lite, $75 between Cincinnati and Dayton

I had a really small one of these, a little newer maybe. Had Rigida hard anodized rims, Suntour Cyclone crank/hubs/etc and these sweet Dia Compe brakes that were powercoated white. It wasn't this cheap, though.

Raleigh Technium sell maybe trade obo

Panasonic-made Le Tour, $40 in metro Cincinnati. I had the blue one in the same frame size, and I rode it like hell. Fit well and rode well too.

Vintage Schwinn LeTour 10 speed bike made in japan march 1974.

That's a nice Medici. I picked one up late last year, higher price point but my size and (quite literally) barely ridden. And all Super Record. Missed out on another one recently, bidding went up to just about this level, also SR. Great riding bikes, very well made and usually well equipped.

Some folks don't like the story behind them, but hey, it is what is is. Or was.

Nice but I think it's more like 1974.

The poor quality photos definitely don't help.

Someone in my parts is selling the exact model for $220, and not in quite as nice condition. If it were $75 I'd snatch it up.

Is it that filet brazed black one that was on ebay recently? Have you posted pictures?

To stay on topic, even at $1500, I think this Masi is a good deal.

I'd make a couple changes, but otherwise, I'd ride it.

(Ad copy is a little annoying but I give the seller a 'B' for creativity, I guess.)

pink merckx anyone??

I paid far less than one would expect.

Certainly less than that ebay example.

My bike is currently hanging on a hook in Bayern at my BIL's house.

I'll be over there next summer to visit family and I will get to work on it while I am there for six weeks.

As for posting fotos, I don't think I will be adding any more bike pics to my Flickr.

I've been finding my bikes for sale in scams far too often.

My TC riding buddies and forum friends are welcome to stop by and see them but I think fotos are not going to be part of my "online" persona much longer.

There are quite a few forum members that never post fotos and I am beginning to understand their concern/reasons.

Forum members flagging various ads on CL.

They pm'd me over the last half year to alert me.

I've been posting for years without concern, but that is coming to an end.

I do think there are some "teasers" per bike ads but maybe I'm paranoid but something to get one's taste buds watering when it is "maybe" (big maybe) fake. A few years ago, I wanted this bike and seemed to have gotten a runaround, then, otoh, on another occasion, I followed one obscure ad, the guy contacted me about a week later and I'm sorry to say, I kind of lost interest and it was a decent bike but I let him keep it. A lot of all of this is "impulse" buying, it really is.

Perhaps you received an exceptional 2015 bonus for your performance as CEO or pro athlete, shorted oil since the end of 2014, happen to be dating a super model, won the Powerball a week ago, or find the $15,000 Rene Herse too lavish. I'd be glad to facilitate.

Wait till you find out how the mechanical malfunctions are handled for this car.

$120 for a matching pair of unmolested early 80s red Peugeot Grand Sports, which is a UO9, if I remember? I thought UO9 had cotterless crank...
(This is one of my fave colors).

Peugot Grand Sport Ten Speeds | eBay

Ok, couldn't resist. I bought them. Looks like the VAR 07 is going to get another workout in the near future.

Vintage Trek 613 Road Bike Frame Set 58cm 27" x 1 1 4" Steel USA Touring | eBay

1981/1981.5 24" Trek 610/613/614/616 frame. The serial number is listed as LE61183 which does not conform to the post-1980 convention. Could it be an older frame, maybe something special?

Nice color.
