This bike here is cool as can be I think and this is real vintage, you know, sometimes something from 2001 shows up in threads! But that is just my view, check the little compartment on the back seat stays. This bike, though German, I think is reminiscent of French bikes. It's a Bauer and as I explained in the other threads, the seller was not putting this in the right area, maybe it's been on ebay for awhile. It still isn't in vintage bikes but at least it's in the right general area now. He says it's a '61 and it's really clean.

Dynamo, lamp mounted on the fork blade, fenders/mudguards (Frankfurt), this is worth at least $350 if not $500 or more I think. Maybe I'm wrong, I was told it was not especially light, I don't think it uses drop out screws or has forged dropouts but the dropouts are serrated. Butterfly or Wing Nuts.

They do have a very high shipping charge, that's a negative. A plus would be to pick it up locally.

This is classic. A lot like the bikes over at TonTon Velo.

Speaking of 7700, this 172.5 crank is $65. If you're interested let me know and I'll get you in touch with the seller on FB.

This is nice, a sparkly root beer painted Colnago for $400 in San Diego---the Alan Wanta paintjob alone costs more than $400, I am sure.

56cm Colnago

Nice deal.

The DeVlaeminck decals are weird - not necessarily in a bad way - but I would have preferred to see them on a blue Gios, personally.

There were some crazy-rare-rare Colnagos made with RdV pantographs and decals back in the '80s, I guess they were trying to recreate that look. I actually saw one listed on the Belgian Craigslist this past summer but it was snapped up very quickly.

Some pics here:

It has the crank but frames by themselves are rather cheap to send.
Man, I'd really love to have that thing.

Meanwhile - your previous comment about the "Flickstand". Weird, that one doesn't seem mounted with the typical tube clamp. I've got one on my wife's mixte, they work OK if installed correctly. eBay often has them for ~$10ish every now and again.

Meanwhile, I meant to post this Torpado for someone in the bay area of FL when it came up but forgot. Don't see Torpado very often. It's missing FD/RD/bars/BL/rear caliper, but paint and frame looks to be in good shape overall. I'd try to talk down to $100 if it's still around, it's got at least $200 in parts (eBay value).

Classic Steel Guerciotti Road Bike

[h=2]Classic Steel Guerciotti Road Bike - $535 (Groton, MA) [/h]

Frame bought new in 1976: 51.5 cm steel (Columbus). Campagnolo triple chainwheel, front derailleur, bottom bracket, and headset; seven-speed freewheel; bar-end friction shifters; Superbee brakes. Faithfully maintained -- last month a new chain and rear derailleur (Shimano Altus GS, black, long cage); very little rust; four years ago rode a century (100 mile) ride with it -- thus the conversion to triple crank setup. Needs new handlebar tape. It is now used as my winter indoor trainer bike. Included are the parts for conversion back to a double chainwheel setup -- Sugino -- with two crankarm lengths (171 & 168 mm) and assorted chainwheels with the original Campagnolo bottom bracket; and a set of Guerciotti bicycle decals (unfortunately the original classic olive wreath ones are no longer available). Also included frame pump and bike computer. Great commuting bike or just casual rides on a classic steel bike. I also understand that these frames are great for fixie (single speed) conversions. $545 cash.

Except for the snapped off tt cable brazeon's, here's a fairly nice early original condition Basso. What might have happened there? The far one is sitting on the rear brake. Odd. Modolo Speedy's, probably date as early 80's.

What possesses people to post just partial shots of the bike and not include at least one photo of the entire bike? I see it all the time and it just leaves me scratching my noggin'...

That yellow Torpado frame is sublime. I used to live in Oldsmar, FL back when I animated on direct to DVD Christian cartoons... those were weird times. That frame is the only thing that has ever made me think, "Man, I wish I were back in Oldsmar" hahahaha.
