Maybe between $800-$1000 shipped to you, as a rough estimate for a Corsa, which is what this is, not a Corsa Extra. Seller's price is optimistic, not that I blame him/her. It's a perfectly fine, even desirable bike -- just not worth the $1,700 asking price.

Wow! I was ready to offer significantly more than that (less than asking). Thank you for the advice.

For anyone who is more than just casually looking (i.e., they've been searching for a 7-11 Merckx specifically in the given size and not finding), it could very well be worth more than the figure I floated. A Corsa is lightweight Columbus SL tubing, after all. Along with the Athena group, it still makes for a fine bike.

Yeah. You may have spoiled a sale for a fellow Noo Yawker. I would like an Eddie Merckx with 7-11 colors, but I already have a Corsa Extra (Motorola team). So I'm okay waiting for a decent buy.

^I'd love ot have one of these. The concept about the curly-ness absorbing road shock seems like it would work, though I've never ridden and and can't say for fact. I'd definitely give one of these bikes a try though if it came my way.

^ I dig the understated no chrome on this one. Beautiful how the seat stays gracefully match the fork blades. Could nitpick some period componentry and rubber, but this one is excused. Congrats in advance to whoever wins it~

The Schwinn Prologue I posted earlier is still for sale, has now gone under the $100 barrier. Rough, but it's a Prologue! It's a size too small for me and I'm not hunting right now.

I'd guess bikeindex one is 55 and CL one is 53

Edit:

Those are the 1989 sizes, though. 1988 catalog I'm looking at is hard to read. Looks like 525 21" and 560 22".
