If that price is for everything shown in the photo, that's a good deal.

Beautiful 1 owner Motobecane Team Champion. Been listed on CL for some time. Rare find.

Motobecane Team Champion 1978 53 cm

Motobecane Team Champion 1978 53 cm - $875 (Wilmette)

One owner, low mileage. Well maintained and an excellent rider. Never raced or crashed. A few minor touch-ups; no dings or dents. Overall paint is excellent for a nearly 40 year old bike.

I find I prefer a slightly larger frame these days. I never thought I'd sell this one and if it was an inch larger I wouldn't.

Frame is Columbus SL throughout. 53 ctt x 55 ctc. Full original Campagnolo component group; Cinelli bars and stem, Fizik tape; Concor saddle. Weight as shown is 21.3 lbs.

Wheels are original Arc en ciel tubular rims laced to Campy low flange hubs. The frame will easily handle up to 32 mm tires.

Please email with questions, and include a phone # so I know you are real. Out of town inquires are welcome.

That is right next door to me (though I have no idea who the owner might be). If you would like me to take a look, give me a shout.

^Thanks Skip but I'm quite set with the Le C. and one of the girls has the smaller frame faux BiC.

Regardless, that Team Champion is quite the beauty and survivor. Curious though how different the Columbus SL and geometry is compared to the earlier 70's TC.

1966 Bottechia Vintage Italian Racing Bike - $2000 (Burlington, WI)

I'm not a 1960's road bike guy so I'm not sure this bike is worth the asking price at all. Sorry I deal more in 1970's and 80's Japanese Road bikes, so the European two wheelers are not in my forte.

Bottechia Vintage Italian Racing Bike

All I see are rather low cost version parts and steel rims. Albeit, perhaps for a 60's bike this would be normal.

What say the experts here. Is this worth $2000 or is this dude dreaming big time? BTW, I'm not interested in the bike at all, but outside the newer stuff I rarely see expensive asking priced vintage bikes near my local.

Late 80s World Sport 54cm 14-speed $100 in Pilsen, Chicago. Nothing to write home about, but a decent looking bike with ok components and a Selle Italia saddle. Definitely a deal for Chicago.

[h=2] Vintage Cinelli copy Raysport road bike 56cm - $140 (Westbury)[/h]LINK

This is a very unique bike. Basically a shortened copy of a Cinelli, it's crafted from Reynolds 531 tubing and has really neat lugwork. Frame is straight and without dings, but the paint is shot and there's some surface rust but no pitting. My plan was to strip and repaint, but I just have not had time - time to move it on to someone who will ride it. Bike has some neat vintage parts - Zeus Criterium rear derailleur, Sugino Mighty Competition cranks, Campagnolo Record shifters, Campagnolo Record seatpost, Spidel headset, Miche competition hubs, Dura Ace brake levers, and good tires/tubes. Bike could use a good cleaning and some adjustments to ride as is, but spending the time on a repaint would make this a really special ride. Bike handles very aggressively and will suprise you with how responsive and fast it is.

I saw the blurry photo of this and the welds around the head tube made me do a double take. Fillet brazed. It's a Schwinn Cimarron wearing BMX handle bar and springy gel seat disguise! Someone please pick this up!

Many of them came with a chrome fork. My LE does not. $300 is strong, but worth it IMHO. If it is local to you and your size, you are not going to see many if any of them. So add a convenience amount $$. Realize if you buy one on eBay or whatever, you are going to be tagged with shipping. In this case, you can inspect in person, make a decision, and perhaps make an offer.

The one in LA is a steal. Shows what goofy mods and poor presentation can do to price.

The Madison one is too large, and the LA one is too far away. The nice thing about them is that they don't appear to be as battered, scratched, and bruised as some old mountain bikes are.

The bike needs an complete refurbishment, but it would have been a good project.

BONTRAGER 1994 Santa Cruz built O.R. Old School Retro Mountain Bike

[h=2]BONTRAGER 1994 Santa Cruz built O.R. Old School Retro Mountain Bike - $450 (Lowell) [/h]

This is one of my personal bike up for sale. I am the original owner of this classic (still have the original paperwork) and was slaying singletrack on it up until just a few months ago when I *finally* decided to get on something newer. Sad to see it go, but it's time. I could use the space and won't be riding it.

Built in Keith's original factory in Santa Cruz CA I bought this bike as a frame set in my senior year of High School. The bike has been professionally worked over and maintained it's entire life. It's a mix of semi-newer parts and the original old school stuff. This bike is surprising capable even by today's standards.

Wheels: Custom Built by Wheelfine in NJ. Pullstar straight pull anodized hubs laced to Mavic SUP rims. These wheels are INDESTRUCTIBLE. It was only a couple of years ago that I replaced the cartridge bearings. Tires are in great shape.

Drivetrain: Deore 9 speed x2 geared very much for climbing. Dubbed the Billygoat this bike will climb anything as steep as you can.

Fork: Older elastomer Rock Shox Judy. I worked this fork over quite a bit and it rides surprisingly well. I beefed up the elastomers and changed the oil weight. Handles a trail surprisingly well.

Brakes: XT V's up front. Canti's in the back. Sweet old school blue anodized Avid levers.

Other sweet Retro bits include the Ringle skewer and Ringle Moby seatpost. Both in the anodized blue.

General wear and tear on the bike, but it's ready to go slay trail right now. The only real "damage" is a big, working dent in the top tube. This happened just a couple of years ago in the Fells. Heartbreaking but the bike rides just fine. I have had no problem in function after the dent.

Old School Retro!!!
