More CL spam from distant lands. This is the standout of the bunch because of its condition. Pretty bike.

Interesting. Probably a repaint of a mystery lugged mtb because Sakae SX is the make and model of the crankset not the bike.

21 in sakae sx* - $40 (Clairmont, CA)

21 in sakae sx

21 in seat to wheel axel, 66in front to back tire, 26 across handle bars, manual gear levers. Used condition cosmetically. Rides good gears and breaks in good condition.

I was so close to bidding on this. I would have gone higher than it ended at as well but my wife was sitting in the room talking to me at end time and she gave me the look.

Can't tell for sure (I'm on mobile), but this looks like a 60-62cm PX10 (frame only) in kinda rough shape for $40. Only two pics so can't see how bad it is. Lack of fork may be a deal killer for some. I think it's a little spendy for what I'm seeing but posting in case anyone is looking.

I know the feeling. That's why I like looking at distant listings: there's the fun of discovery without the risk of acquisition.

Plus our local MN Craigslist is frozen solid in the winter.

Yeah, the pros know bike prices rise in the spring, and the amateurs cleaned out the garage BEFORE the onslaught of winter

Before I clicked on the link I tripled what I thought it was worth to guess at the price. I was under by $1k. I can hear Bob Barker laughing at me now.

Yeah it's been through a couple of times. First time it was listed in the neighborhood of $2500.

Grabbed it yesterday. It's a Bridgestone RBT. Didn't come with the rack. The derailleur "the bike needed" was the rear, unfortunately; he'd put a very pretty SunTour Fuji Vx on it to make it test rideable (he also put a broken can-take-just-enough-pressure-to-technically-be-rideable tire on the rear). Everything seems to be in working order, besides the lack of rear mech and need for a rear tire that isn't busted. Frame and fork have quite a bit of scuffing in the finish, and someone removed the larger decals (well, they didn't scrub the outlines away, you can still read the words), but seem to be decent quality and in perfectly serviceable condition. Saddle is an Avocet Touring, surface is in pretty good shape. Shifters are some of the later SunTour barcons with black housing where they connect to the bars, they read...
SUNTOUR
BAR CON
POWER SHIFTER
...on the side. The housing is kind of scuffed up but they seem to be working great.
The cantis seem to be working fine, they read:
DIA COMPE
XCM

I'll probably make another post once I have time to investigate a certain peculiarity, get pictures, etc.

Glad someone got the RBT.
Looks like that Trek 520 or 620 for $180 in Boston is gone too.
