[h=2]1984 Trek 520 - $269 (Weston) [/h]

22" Trek 520, the Golden Unicorn of touring bikes, nearly all original condition. Has fresh tires, brake pads and hoods. Bar tape is crappy vinyl

It is clean ready after years of sitting in a dark, warm, dry place; no cleanup needed, a bit of frame polish maybe if you choose.

[h=2]Bianchi bicycle - $300 (Arlington) [/h]

Celeste Mint-Greeen Bianchi Road Bike, 14-speed in great shape (some nicks but overall looks great), recently tuned. Shimano Sport LX shifters, all new cables and brakes. Gatorskin tires. Include a nice Specialized racing seat worth over $100. This bike is fast!, but too tall for me. I'm 5'10, so best for 6' or over. Call Erik at 617-780-8879.

Ha

The seller seems like a nice enough guy. Older guy who knew what he had, just didn't have a feel for the value currently. With some work and much better pictures, I'd bet that bike could bring about $1k on our CL. If not, parting out would bring in a decent chunk. He does has some spare parts from the bike not shown. He won't get what he's seeking now but there's a good bit to be made on that bike from his perspective. Just needs to understand the market better.

When a shop quotes a value such as that, the better question should be what they'd actually pay for it.

If it didn't fit I would of considered it - but honestly - what's left is in really poor shape - as you can guess from the pictures - and not sure how much of it is even original.

I understand completely. Unless the components have deep scratches, they should polish up pretty well. I sure would try. They look like they could be original but I could not tell from that photo. Nice score!!

I had this happen recently on a Pinarello, I'd say it was an 84' all Super Record, orig owner and looked in great condition. He just said make offer. I offered $400 and he countered $500. Problem is I was in Verizon store getting new phone and it took almost two hours. I was headed out and he sends me a message saying he changed his mind as it was worth more..

Rare and supa cool handbuilt Melton tandem for cheap. Looks like it might have TA cranks / Suntour shift group and would guess Phil Hubs.

https://fortcollins.craigslist.org/bik/5453033576.html

Melton tandem

Beautiful master piece of American custom frame building. 1980 vintage Melton tandem 60 cm captain 56 cm stoker. Built with Reynolds tubing fillet brazed like a work of art. This bike has been well cared for and has limited miles, the wife didn't like riding tandem so it sat, and needs a new home. Melton was a huge inovator in American frame building and his tandems are super rare. Message me back and I can give details.

No pics, I'm on mobile but Atlanta folks, here's a (1986?) DX-2000 Panasonic for $75 in Decatur, looks to be in pristine shape, full Shimano. Not my ball of wax. Panasonic 10 speed bicycle

This appears to be the catalog page I guess: https://picasaweb.google.com/m/zoom?...portHeight=416

Austro Daimler Vent noir - $220 (Williamsburg)

Austro Daimler vent noir 2. Reynolds 531 frame. Will need tires but frames worth asking IMO.....Road related trades considered parts etc. Frames an xl....so need to be tall for this one.

Yes to Phil and T/A, but it looks like Shimano indexed barcons and derailleurs. There's a thread like this in the Tandem Cycling forum, so you should probably post this ad there also.

Clean Automoto for $200 in Ft. Wayne, IN. Last of the batch before consumed by Peugeot in the later 1950's. Not too difficult in finding a suitable replacement front mudguard.
