Hey, anyone in the SF Bay area that could check out the following for me, maybe even a phone call? Seller will only deal locally and really didn't even want to talk when he noticed my phone number.

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/bik/1611515967.html

I'd really like to know what model this Fuji is...I didn't get that far with him. He said his nephew "rode it in Italy" a long time ago...huh.

Thanks.

Wow. Looks like a Newest. Good find if you can get it. If you are willing to take the gamble, you can try to pay via paypal and have them drop off the bike at their LBS for shipping. That is basically what I did for my America and Opus III.

I sent him an email. Don't get your hopes up - that bike is probably already gone gone gone.....and if it isn't, he's a fair bit away from me. I doubt I can get to it in time.

When I talked to him he didn't mention it being gone and it;s well hidden in that listing, who knows. I asked for pics via e-mail too (removed my signature ) and he said he;d send them when he got home tonight....we'll see.

Thanks!

This bike has been up for at least 2-3 weeks. You probably have a good shot at it. However, seller sounds quite rude so I'd venture if he's the reason the bike never sold...

I don't know where you guys find stuff like what you do, I always come across something halfway decent, and it looks like absolute garbage, or stuff like this...

https://sanantonio.craigslist.org/bik/1610210470.html

I know this bike wasn't anywhere near $400 when new, and it's very entry level stuff, but it's vintage, so someone will pay it right? Makes me laugh and sad all at the same time.

i commute to work on a bike which is super fun but, i want another fixie for these activities. so ill trade you my awesome old school huffy and a metro pcs messenger (in great condition) for a fixie, fixed gear, whatever. it can be old and crappy, as long as the wheels are legit and it rides pretty solid.

let me know what you got, help a noble commuter get back on a road bike.

That is a bargain compared to this one.

Aaah, the Universal City flipper!
I wonder if he actually sells his bikes for even half the asking price.

Frankly, I'm amazed that a $50 bike in the SF market hasn't disappeared in minutes.

This is a factory replica of the top bike after it won the worlds in 1970 1971. This bike has a 19 inch frame and 26 inch wheels with steel rims. Simplex gear system with 10 speeds. Raleigh crank. Union pedals. Weinmann 999 Vainqueur brakeset. GB alloy bar and stem. Sturmey Archer made both the rims and the high flange hubs. You simply can't go wrong.

I'm reading that ad as a $50 Dura-Ace casette and, BTW, a couple of Fuji bikes for sale as well.

Did anyone get a price quote on the silver Fuji road bike?

Matt, I'm not sure I'm seeing a Newest there. Decals aren't quite right .. What year are you thinking?

For it's age and brand, not so entry level. Optimistically priced, yes. However, the original Primus pump is pretty sought after.

I'm still surprised this one hasn't been grabbed:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1015

Top of the line Fuji, The Finest with chrome lugs. I've seen them sell on EBay lately for twice the BIN. I'm in that area, I'm willing to help out if anyone needs it. With Mavic tubulars ... mmm, tasty

Scott,

I figured it is the year that they dropped the orange(red?) downtube block...77. The "Fuji" on the downtube looks strange, but I can't think of any model that put a decal there. Cranks and FD seem to match the catalog as well. A "The Newest" decal on the top tube would be too small for me to see.

What are you thinking it is?

If it were something like a local CL and I had a spare wheelset, I would consider it. Since I am full on bikes ATM, I have to sit back and watch it being auctioned again.

Did you toss out the bid the first time around?

Got me .... the Fuji on the down tube doesn't match anything with that crankset. The decals of the "Newest" were prone to be removed by owners, they couldn't figure out what the name meant. Same with the word "Racer" on the down tube ... some considered it dorky and peeled them off. Here's an example of a '73 minus the decals:

1 shogun 60 cm good condition, 200 obo
1 shogun 48 cm good condition, 200 obo
1 peugot needs some work, 200 obo
1 plain ladies huffy, 40 obo

Matt, don't let the tubulars worry you .... but I know the garage is full for you. No, I didn't put in that bid on the earlier auction but I'm sure thinking about it now considering it's a local pick up.

1984 Miyata ridge line mountain bike - $150 (Fox Point)

"1984 This was the Cro-Magnon era of mountain bikes and the Miyata was a prime example. No suspension, SunTour Mountech derailleurs, 6 speed freewheel, friction shifting, bull moose handlebars, round bear trap pedals and bolt on hubs. This boike is in fair condition but could use some tlc. It is 100% original with the addition of fenders. Show off your old school cool to all of your friends at the next wors race! 18" frame. "
i got the same Miyata. VERY NICE. I have Two stumpjumpers from the same year and honestly the Miyata is MUCH NICER and a smoother ride!! ( and those XC pedals on EBAY would probably do well. Buy it ! if you don't i want it. where is foxpoint? anyone wanna grab it for me?
