I'm not sure what to make of this. Were vertical dropouts around in the 70's?
Looks like a '73 RRA with a poor imitation repaint and non-original fork.

I'd love to find an all original one (completely non-Campy!) in my size, but they didn't MAKE the RRA that big (65cm), so...

Campy verts were around in the 60's and Herse and others were using verts of other kinds as early as 1950.

Could still make a really nice bike for low $ assuming it's 531 or something similar.

it probably is, but its also an hour away! hah. and for an unknown frame without fork....that has been made into a fake colnago. nah. if it was not a fake and actually had what it was, it would be worth a lot more.

Yeah I hear you, if it isnt actually a Colnago having a fake one would bug me too. I dont know why people do that - that is make fake versions of high end brands, it's such sad vanity.

Yuck! He doesn't know? But he knows enough to buy a bike for parts and transfer them over to an existing bike? Sounds sketch. Unless someone here can verify, I'd skip.

yeah, he should have put that in the advert- considering the frame has colnago written all over it - it only take a few key strokes to say "its not a colnago" but he was skating the "I didn't say its a colnago in the advert...and i don't know if it is or not..." I think he knows its not. still good tip and thanks. still a cool frame and paint!

I had a Tourmalet 853 frame, and I could barely get $150 for it. This bike I'd say a max of $400, but that's just me. Modern bikes don't do much for me, even if they're steel.
I think this sentiment is widely shared...which is why late model Lemonds are great bargains IMHO. I have one (a Croix de Fer), and I think the ride quality is fantastic. You could buy yourself a new Soma Smoothie frame (or any number of modern steel frames with essentially the same geometry) for a tick under $500, or you could get yourself a complete Lemond for often much less. And they even feature horizontal top tubes, as god intended.

Looks like there's a vertical dent in the TT just behind the script near the stem anyway? Maybe an optical illusion.

The seller knows for a fact that it is NOT a Colnago. This frame with a proper Colnago fork was listed for the longest time on CL inn the Hartford CT area, and then the seller finally put it on ebay, listing as a fake and selling it with the real fork. That's how it ended up in the Bay area.

If it smelled, just give it a good washing. If one dropped it; you'd almost be forced to pay for it.

Aw man, that Schwinn Pixie breaks my heart. Someone loved it once! It was some sweet little girl's first bicycle once.

I'd go in and grab everything that looked like a Raleigh 3-speed, you could surely get a working bike out of ten of them!
