I'd agree. There seem to be two bends, actually: one at the point where the stays attach to the seat tube, and the second, more obvious, in mid-stay. The most plausible explanation is something put that bend in after the frame was built.

Wow! Thats the way to buy. Fillet brazed, nice lines. Check out the build sheet. Lots of vintage candy. Maybe just clock the cranks (or leave as is) and lube. Done. Anyone here grabbing it?

The bridge is at the bend:

There were a lot of bends in some of those machines; I'm unsure, I'd tend to believe the Bowling Green Mixte is as it was manufactured.

Possibly a model we don't ordinarily see in the states though it says it is a Mirage; it could have been brought in by the rider.

87 schwinn prelude Olympic edition

There is a Schwinn Prelude thread on page 1 currently, this one is the "Olympic edition", hefty price and only one picture that doesn't show much.

Schwinn catalogs, 1981 - 1990 (346 of 456) Maybe in the catalog somewhere.

Man, I'm bummed! Missed out on a lot this weekend, too busy to watch ATL's CL. One Pogliaghi in great shape for $200. Someone else had a lot of smaller 52-ish bikes for sale: Masi, Raleigh Int'l, De Rosa, Bianchi, Bridgestone, Gray Fisher, and a Ciocc.

The seller put on a new crank; otherwise, it could be from 1977 per catalog with the Suntour VGT derailleur and we've never gotten many of the curve tubed Motobecane Mixtes but Astra, Motobecane affiliate, did make some curve tubed Mixtes that got to the US.

VeloBase.com - Component: SunTour V-GT Luxe

Astra Mixte:

The chromed tipped forks is also more typical of the '70s.

If the bars are bent uneven which is about the only way it could be if the bike got bent, I don't see it as much.

I know there is one member who could probably give a fairly authoritative answer.

Geometrically, I'm not sure how that is suppose to work if it is bent, trying to visualize it.

Not making a big deal of this but this Mirage has no bands on the seat tube making it closer to the 1975 Mirage:

Probable same seller is also is selling a 1980s Super Mirage, note the bands:
https://bgky.craigslist.org/bik/5527242363.html

Motobecane Mirage

I think the other Mirages shown have the decal bands on the seat tube as in the 1977: Motobecane catalog (1977)
Though by '83 or so, they did bring back some bandless Motobecanes but some of those did not have chromed forks.

That tandem is amazing; the ad says only 40 pounds; brooks saddles and so forth. Tandems must not be easy to move around thus, sometimes one runs into nice deals like this, worth it.

In Northern San Diego: Not enough pics to really know, but this looks to be at least a well-outfitted mid-range Nishiki in good shape at a very reasonable price:

12 speed Nishiki road racer bike

An interesting well-priced Fuji touring bike with bar-cons - if you can ignore the flipper handlebar tape:

Fuji Saratoga 54cm High End Touring Bike Lugged Ishawata Steel!

Pics don't do this justice at all, but it's a Della Santa with top-tier Campy componentry for a good price:

Custom Della Santa Bike

Solid looking 853 Schwinn Peloton with nice components and condition:

1999 Schwinn Peloton with Ultegra & Dura-Ace components

If I were in the market for another bike, the Peloton would be the first one I investigated.

Huh. Looks like a mid-70s Gitane TdF for $225. Seller finally posted pics today. Mafac Competition, Pivo stem, assuming P3 headset, Campy hubs/Mavic rims, Sugino Maxy crankset, Simplex Criterium and dropouts, Ideale saddle. Needs a full overhaul but looks pretty solid.
