I mentioned this in my bike swap thread. Eddy Merckx De Rosa with mixed components. I will vouch that the frame looks really nice. $475.
Except what's going on with the silver paint all around the BB area? It goes partway up the seat and down tubes, and looks to extend almost all the way to the dropouts on the chainstays. Non-original fork, too.

Nice - but for my $1900 I want my rims to match and my pedals to be Campy like the rest of the bike

I like it quite a bit.

Too spendy to take a flyer on, but still a really interesting frame design.

Really a value though.

Great riding bike, cool pedigree and tradeworthy components.

Take the brakes off, sell them, toss on some used Chorus calipers and you'd come out smelling like a rose.

Schwinn Prelude

"
In mint condition schwinn
I purchased brand new in 1985.
It has not been used , except for a few rides. Been in storage
New tires a year ago

"

$140 for a Columbus Tenax Schwinn isn't bad. Paint is definitely 1988 rather than 1985. Looks like a 21" frame to me.

I was (am) sorely tempted by this....

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bik/5544741207.html

[h=2]Independent Fabrication Club Racer - $1000 (charlestown) [/h]

condition: good
make / manufacturer: independent
model name / number: club racer
size / dimensions: 60cm

IF club racer made in sommerville. steel frame, commuter/light touring, can run fenders. A new frame alone is 2200, im not taking offers of 500. its a 60 cm frame, purple metallic paint, has some paint scratches from rocks, but no dents, never dropped. Ultegra tripple- brand new cassette, lightly used chain, mavic cxp wheels, michelin tires, keeping seat and pedals.
dont waste my time if not serious dont email.
2001 model, ridden in charity rides till 2006 then been in mostly in storage.
im selling because im into motorcycles now. if you have a decent motorcycle i may be willing to barter.

no lowball, no bs, no wire tranfers. if you know bikes you know this is a good deal
  • do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers

[h=2]Custom steel frame built by Peter Mooney - $1500 (lexington) [/h]

do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers
This is a beautiful bike built by Peter Mooney from Belmont Wheelworks. The bike was recently updated with new wheels and current components. I am the original owner and except for a couple of spots of wear, this bike is in great condition. 62cm down tube and 60cm top tube. Cinelli stem and handlebars. Campagnolo super record headset. Dura-ace triple crankset set up to get to 1:1 gearing ratio. Deore XT rear derailleur. Dura-ace brakes. Ultegra triple shifters. Krysium wheels with Gatorskin tires. Easton XC90 seat post. This is a gorgeous steel frame with master craftsmanship throughout. Just don't ride it very much anymore. $1500 or best offer. No lowball offers please.

One just sold on ATL Craigslist, same model, same color, in similar shape, for $200. I emailed 3 hours after it posted, never heard a response despite offering to pay more than ask, and ... it was removed within 48 hours.

Any French fans near north Jersey, here's a $95 piece of history for local pickup that would make a really fun and unique project bike. Looks like a early 50s P[H|HX]60, could be a really fun project for someone at $100. Going on memory, 50/60 series was typically touring IIRC, and I think the the tourers in the early 50s were the only bikes to ever get those novel bullethole-dished hubs. Probably $300 in parts there to the right person but it'd be a shame to part out a survivor bike this complete.

That front wheel is something.

Does anyone know how long Peugeot used those Simplex QRs? Surely, they used them into the '70s.

I was cleaning up wheels while hunting for stuff to post in a recent Araya Light thread and pulled a pair of mis-matched hubs from a '73 mixte. One was Normandy high flange date code 68, other was Sturmey Archer. The Normandy had Simplex skewer of that style so if original to the hub, I suppose it was still going on in '68. I don't recall seeing any from the early 70s, but I haven't had a pre-'72 Pug in a long while.
