I see most bikes being way overvalued in SF. Prices start at $300 for almost every steel bike that rolls. And so they sit and are relisted for months.

I seem to remember someone being interested in a 19 inch frame, so here's a decent price on a 19" Bridgestone 500:

Wait, did you see the Centurion Super Elite for $150 in the post before yours? That's in SF-CL. Maybe there are bargains to be had, if you stay vigilant and have the $$$ to pounce as soon as you see it. I know they do have some of the best steel I've seen in ads from all over the country.

Yeah, I posted it.

There are lots of deals for sure. I just mean that crappy bikes usually have high prices on them.

But there are a ton of overpriced bikes. I think what actually sells follows the laws of supply and demand. But there are a high number of bikes that never move and yet the price never drops.

Seriously. A Cinelli mountain bike, built, I believe, with Columbus Cromor OR steel. Retrieving photo locally for posterity.

Smoke Gray Dave Scott Master. 56 cm according to seller. 150.00 USD post is 3 days old, and the town is pretty far away from Boston.

The Cinelli MTB was already posted yesterday. I was getting ready to go get it, when it was pointed out to me by someone more knowledgeable about MTBs than I am that the front shock is trashed.

How much would it cost to fix that fork if taken to a LBS?

I don't have a pile of experience, but i fixed the fork on my rockhopper with just basic tools and some parts from a hardware store. i'd not let the shock throw you off it. and if its too much of a pain you can always go rigid- new decent forks are only $60

The busted front shock on the Cinelli moves that bike, at least for me, from a "drop everything I'm doing and go get it" bike, to an interesting bike that's probably worth the effort if I were actually looking for something like it category. So I'm leaving it for someone who might actually be looking for such a thing.

Unless you go to just the right LBS, they're just gonna recommend replacement.

There are elastomer kits for it readily available:
https://www.suspensionforkparts.net/...fresh-kit.html

I'd probably just get a nice 420mm-ish rigid fork for it, myself.

Hmm, that might be 1" though. Would probably take some digging. Might have to settle for a 395-400mm ATC fork. Tough to find 1" ones in longer ATC.

[h=2]Custom 12 speed bike - $295 (Quincy) [/h][[/FONT]

This bike was built for a good friend of mine and then they sold it to me. It is a late 1980's road bike with Shimano 600 running gear everywhere. I'm 5'-7" and this is a good height for this bike. The tires are flat but I haven't rode this in a while and I'm sure they will pump up.

[h=2]Vintage Andy Gilmour road bike 62cm - $350 (Peabody)

I had intended to restore this great bicycle to its prior glory but never got around to it. Andy Gilmour is/was a premier frame builder, now living in Arizona. This is a 62cm Gilmour frame, made from Reynolds tubing, coupled with an array of Campy (crank,hubs, rims) Shimano DuraAce (brakes) and Suntour components, with TTT bar and Bianchi stem. Tubular tires. Wheels are trued and light.Needs tires, brake hoods, but is otherwise in perfect riding condition. I am 6'1" and it is on the large size of fitting me Light, and with a ride that only steel can deliver. $350 or bo.
