I thought Lemans was low end, this looks pretty nice, my size too. Good thing it's a hour away, the unemployment check can't take the hit.

I have a Team Fuji just like this one. More of a crit bike but still a very nice ride. Even if this bike has a little wear on it, all the components are first rate (if not changed out) and should be able to restore quite nicely. Price is decent too. But for the best road ride, I am told the Fuji Club is the ticket . I have one of those too and will be trying it out this Saturday if weather holds .

Hello again, ladies and gentlemen. You may remember me from last week, where you all forced me to buy a Motobecane Grand Touring. Just kidding - I love it and it's coming along nicely.

That leads me to my next problem: I think I'm addicted. I now spot a Mercier 300 on local Craigslist and I just HAVE to have it (I can already see BigBossMan scratching his head wondering why I want another French bike).

56cm French Roadbike - Mercier 300 - $200 (santa cruz)

Smooth riding old ten-speed, this Mercier lugged steel beauty is ready to go! Fully tuned up featuring Mafac "Racer" brakes with kool-stop pads and Shimano derailleurs. New cables and housing + nice cork bar tape. 56 cm center to center, 57.5 center to top. Never heard of Mercier? Sheldon Brown had this to say about the brand: "[Mercier was a] major Peugeot competitor in the '70's. The model 100 was very similar to the Peugeot UO-8, the 300 was comparable to the PX-10" Thanks for looking!

Do I need it? No. Do I want it? Yes! Obviously the Shimano derailleurs aren't original. I think I want to buy it, strip it down and re-paint it, then build it back up with period-correct components. Will someone possibly talk me out of it?

If it came with a cottered crank, could it really be considered equivalent to the PX-10? It looks more like a mid-line model. I hope it has aluminum rims.

I think painting it could bring you new skill which will be useful for future flips. This one will allow you to break even on material costs and lose time, but the time is well spent gaining skill.

Good point on the cottered crank. Maybe it's not original? I think I'll keep looking. It's a cool bike, though.

Collin - be careful with this one. MAKE SURE the bb feels good - a decent cotter pin press is ~$60, and I do not have one so you're on your own.

This bike will impress your fellow riders! This was a limited edition from Cannondale back in the late 80's. This bike has been ridden very little--probably less than 500 miles. It's really a beauty and in excellent condition! 63 cm C-T. I'm 6' with a 34" inseam and it fits me great. Handcrafted aluminum frame. Wobler T 430 Alpine wheels. Continental 700x25 tires. Suntour, Sugino AP, Dai-compe. 18-speed. This bike is very light and fast. New Serfas seat. This is your chance to own a classic and it is a great looking bike! Cash only, please. Call 612-201-1039 to see. You won't be disappointed.

Definitely a pair of Black Lightnings. The cantilever cheapo looks like a 50 or 52- heck, the frame alone is worth that much.

But the other one for $1500...methinks somebody's been hittin' the old crack-ola. And that's an 87 or 88, which means it ain't no 18 speed unless somebody slid a triple in there.

Looks to be mid to early 80's Tempo. Not sure what the Columbus sticker is. No price. I personally won't respond to "bid" ads on Craigs. Set a price and let's negotiate.

I have for sale a nice vintage Bianchi road bike. The bike is a Bianchi Stelvio and is a 1985 and has a 56cm frame. The frame was stripped of its original gunmetal paint and repainted with a custom mixed base coat / clear coat in a nice mint Celeste color. The only decals that were installed after paint were the downtubes just to keep the frame looking clean. This frameset was built in Italy. The components are Campy and Modolo. This is a great riding light weight vintage road bike that needs a new home. Please email any questions through Craigslist.

Tall Schwinn Super LeTour-Chicago Made - Super Clean Bike - $220 (Apple Valley)

Date: 2010-03-05, 7:26AM CST
Reply to: sale-86hz6-1629464783@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

1980 Schwinn Super Letour. (25" frame, 34.5 inch stand over) Super clean all original Chicago made. Torch Brazed Lug Frame. 18 gauge 1020 carbon Xtra-light Steel. The Super LeTour was near the top of the Schwinn line for this year. Frames are just not made like this anymore - unless you're spending big big bucks. This bike will give a smooth classic ride! Nothing else is like it!

By 1980 most of the Schwinn's were being made in Taiwan. Schwinn made a select few bikes in Chicago in 1979 and 1980. It's rare to find a Chicago made Schwinn from this late date and it's even rarer to find one this nice. All original. Rip it apart and build the fixie of your dreams or just true the rear wheel (that's all it seems to need) and ride it in style. OK, The rubber is getting a little old - but no kidding both tires still hold air. Steel is real and this Chicago made Schwinn is as real as it gets - right down to the 6" chrome trim on the fork blades!

Check out the pictures and the cool ad showing a youthful Jean-Claude-Killy hawking this bike from the 1980 Schwinn catalog. Check out the full specs from the same catalog.

I'll let it go for $220.00. E-mail if interested and I'll get right back to you right away.

This is an expensive bicycle the was purchased at a bicycle shop (not a department store) and lightly used, always stored indoors.

^^^OMG

Might have to contact this guy just to see if he'd let me take pictures of them all. There's got to be a Paramount or decent lightweight in that collection.
