eBay / CraigsList finds - "Are you looking for one of these!?" Part II

I have owned two Grand Sports. After I sold my first one I had seller's remorse. I found another one my size and picked it up. I found I didn't ride it much so I let that one go. They are nice bikes but not great. I will not pickup a third.
Raleigh Competition Sport Tourer- 22.5" (Total Rebuild!) - $275

This is NOT a Grand Sport, it is a Competition! Much higher in the food chain!

I am real curious what year(s) Raleigh made blue/white Competitions. I have never seen that color combo in their catalogs. I have only seen Gran Sport, Grand Sport, Grand Sports in those colors.

Remember, I can't ride drops anymore (back issue), so I would roadsterize it. Sell those dangly derailleurs and drop bar accoutrements and buy an AW hub, some fenders, and an upright handlebar/stem combo - not an upgrade, more of a backdate, if you see what I mean. I would go full-on retro, and that blue/white paint scheme would make for a visually stunning bicycle that glides effortlessly along at bike path speeds.
Something like I did with this Fuji Royale, for instance:
Fuji-san likes being a Roadster! She is one sweet ride.

Very nice looking bike. Is that picture taken near Cherokee Park?

I really like this Raleigh USA Competition frame. Seller says 1985 but I'm quite sure it's a 1986. So many ways you could take this unique color scheme.

It does look like a tall 58 for sure. Seller seems fairly precise with his specifications. If I hadn't just bought another 80s Raleigh, this would be hanging next to my 6 other frames waiting for attention

Miyata 721 road bike- $175 (Grand Ave., St. Paul)
Miyata Seven 21 road bike -- 52 cm
For sale is a 1991 Miyata Seven 21 road bike in great condition. We bought this bike for my fiancee at The Hub Bike Co-op's annual sale, but it ended up being a little too big. This would be very well suited well for someone 5'5" - 5'9". Everything is in good working condition.
Specs:
- lugged cromoly (steel) frame and fork
- Shimano Exage 500 EX components -- mid-level components for 1990's road bikes.
- 3 x 7 gearing
- downtube shifters
- aluminum rims
- Michelin Axial tires, looks like 700 x 25.
This would be a great bike for the beginning road cyclist, for commuting (it has mounts for a rear rack), or for getting around campus.
$175 OBO.

A lot of people don't like the unicrown style which later became the standard for a while.

Ad says: "- lugged cromoly (steel) frame and fork"
That's not what it says on the frame.
