Rene Hearse ad - Update on the bike. a neighbor kid saw me taking pictures of the bike last night. and after I posted the bike and shut my computer off he came back and asked about the bike. He didn't have the $100 but he agreed to cut my grass for the 3 summer months. He was so excited, I heard him with the hack saw not 20 minutes later. apparently he already a three spoked wheel and a fixed wheel from a bike that was too small and was smoothing out the frame for new paint. I guess it will roll on for another 30 years. I forgot about the craigslist ad, so sorry if I didn't get back to you, there were too many emails to respond to.
It's got to have been a troll....

Shame about the chrome, but this might turn out OK with a soak in oxalic acid:
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bik/1643961339.html
It's a 56cm Allegro Special F&F with chrome Nervex Pro lugs. $165, Berkeley CA
coincidentally I almost bought this very frame about 5 years ago but decided it was too much work.
The chrome wasn't this bad back then...a great Swiss frame!

It most definitely WAS a troll. Pictures were lifted from this: https://bikeville.blogspot.com/2009/1...r-bicycle.html

Twas a clever ruse, whoever played it. I can imagine them finding this thread and uttering many lolz over the whole event.

But regarding the "That isn't Arizona grass" statement - I live in Arizona and it tricked me. You'd be surprised at the lawns and backyards along the canals in Arcadia...not all of Phoenix is dirt and gravel (most, but not all).

Correct me if i'm wrong, but it is illegal to have a lawn in neighboring New Mexico - because they realize they live in a desert. but apparently the people of AZ do not realize they live in a desert - lake mead is already at an alltime low since it was filled, which is think were many get their water.

The bike looks gorgeous as is for some reason. Would definitely consider were it not the scary non standard threading. Here's a restoration:

Even though its a low end ten speed I'd like one of these. At $300 its way overpriced, but it does have a picture of Eddy on the headtube and its orange. Three bikes I would love to have Merckx, Anquetil, and Coppi.

Beautiful Bianchi Single Speed (56cm) - $300 (Westwood)

Date: 2010-03-14, 11:34PM EDT
Reply to: sale-u5cqb-1644494683@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Hey guys,
Here is my latest creation...A single speed built up with a 1995 Bianchi Chorus TSX in a 56 cm. The specs are as follows:

-Sugino Track Crank (NEW)
-Soma Fabrications Track Bars (New)
-Campy Chorus Headset (Feels amazing)
-Shimano BB (New)
-Surly Singleator (NEW)
-Bontrager Race Lite Tires (NEW)
-Tektro Front Brake
-Sram Single Speed Chain (NEW)
-Cinelli Black Bar TAPE (NEW)
-Front Mavic CXP21 Rim Laced to Sora Hub (NEW)
-ALEX R450 Rear Wheel with Flip Flop Hub (NEW)
-Pedals and Downtube Shifters not Included

This bike has not been ridden anywhere but my driveway and it rides very smooth. The frame has a couple paint chips in it but most have them have been covered in touch up paint. It really is a good looking frame.
The only flaw with this bike is that the seatpost seems to be fused to the frame. I have tried almost everything short of cutting it out and it wont come loose. The seat is just barely too high for me and I am 6 feet tall so this should be good for anyone a little taller than me.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like to see it.

Thanks!

Bike Travel Case - $100 (South End - Boston)

Reply to: sale-ak9bs-1644119334@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

We have (2) Perfomance Xport Bike Cargo Case for sale $100ea / $180set

The case separates into top and bottom and comes with a thick plastic separator and foam padding to keep your wheels away from your bike frame. Like most cases, you have to take your handlebars and seat & post off, for most road bikes the fork can be kept as is, some MTB may need the stem loosen so the forks can be turned sideways. Inside the case are 4 steel tie-down points with nylon straps that enable you to "suspend" your bike in the case -- no part of the bike touches the outside of the case where it could be damaged when thrown by baggage handlers or shipping companies. There is enough room in the case for helmet, shoes and a few other items. The clamps on the sides are lockable to protect your gear. Performance Bike sells a mounting accessory kit so that you can use the case as a roof top bike case or luggage case. A couple of straps (and some weatherproofing if driving in the rain) is really all you need.

The case is in excellent condition and has been stored inside for many years. Our names were painted on them with silver paint when it was shipped via UPS to Ride the Rockies for a tour. I can easily paint over the name with black spray paint, or let you do that. The instructions for use (showing how to put the bike in) is included.

*I prefer local buyer, but will ship via FedEx ground if buyer pays for case and shipping in advance.
