Not loving the tri/TT stuff, but otherwise, nice bike. Looks like a rare Columbus-tubed PX10 from the late-'80s.

This Black Lightning has been for sale for awhile. Seller dropped the price to $395. Pretty fair for that condition IMO. Still has the dork disc on it.

Anyone want a super budget tour rider? Early 80's Panasonic (like the Schwinn SS of the era). Tange Champ 2, rack bosses in seat stay, forged Suntour dropouts / fork ends, triple with plenty of gear range, Suntour shift group. Sharp colors and pretty clean, incl. some original paperwork $175. Lot of bike for little money.

This "HARP" bike from Japan with Sprint and Superbe components appears to have been overlooked by the eBay gleaners. Nice looking bike. A great deal for someone who can pick it up locally.

Agree a bit optimistic on the weight but I'm guessing its still light at 23-24 lbs. Mostly original and not often found in these conditions. The paint and decals are amazing. Never know for sure but it looks original. A few period part corrections and major overhaul would make for a smashing bike.

Interesting bike. Can't seem to find any good info on HARP bikes or Takizawa Cycle Co. (at least nothing that isn't in Japanese). A bit of a Frankenbike: Sprint and Maillard hubs, Nisi and ??? wheels, some Superbe, who knows what for the rear derailleur. Seller has not sold anything else, no ebay history. One bid at .99¢, but $150 to ship (to Oregon, anyway). Tempting, but I'll pass this time.

That is one wicked pretty bike! Did they really use stainless steel tubing? How cool is that? Rene Herse was making bikes in the 20 lb. range and even lower. Thanks for the posting.

1970s Galmozzi Racing Bicycle

Well, it's a good thing I'm poor, or ebay would be dangerous. This bike could be a grail bike for me: it's my size, it's orange, and it has a chicken on it. Did I mention that I like chickens?

Vintage 1970s Galmozzi Racing Bicycle,Columbus Steel,VGC,56cm,Campagnolo gruppo | eBay

Galmozzi History:

The Gloria Bicycle Company was founded in 1922 by Alfredo Forcesi and Francesco Galmozzi. Gloria sponsored professional teams early on. They won the World Road Championships in 1923 with Libero Ferrario and the Giro d'Italia in 1931 with Francesco Camusso. Others of note who raced on Glorias at some point in their careers include Constante Giradengo and Learco Guerra. Gloria Garibaldinas were the most beautiful bicycles in the world, with their satin nickel finish and tre-foglior (three flower) lugs.

It was under Galmozzi, at Gloria, that Faliero Masi learned his craft, working there from 1936-38. A young Ernesto Colnago was so taken by Glorias that he worked there for meals-only during the war. Cino Cinelli, who also worked at Gloria for a short time, may have been inspired by the semi-sloping fork crowns found on Glorias.

Francesco Galmozzi split with Forcesi (for both business and personal reasons) and began building racing bicycles in Milano, Italy in about 1950. He built frames for Rik Van Looy, King of the Classics, in the 1960's, as well as for other notable professionals (the bikes were painted based on the team's sponsor). Gino Bartali's track frame was built by Galmozzi and another seller says the curator at Museo Del Ciclismo Gino Bartali that it was Galmozzi that first put Bartali's own name on a frame. Francesco's son, Angelo Galmozzi carried on the family tradition and built all frames in the 60's and 70's.
