Every time someone posts this bike again it makes me think I should buy it on one of my frequent trips to Sacramento.

So, this is probably just an entry level type bike, not bad.

Good grief, I hate this thread

Looks like the Nishiki International will be headed this way soon. Been looking for a "classy" frameset in my size since I traded off my too small '64 Atala.

You have no idea how close I came to buying that. I saw it in the auction listing alerts for that seller shortly after it was listed, and noticed it was a Semi-Pro. After seeing how it turned out, I'm bummed I didn't pick it up.

For Chicago Land folks

A nice looking ? Leto ? With what looks to be Croce D'Aune. Listed in the general for sale section. The picture link didn't work for me but might be a fair price for a local buyer.

If this were closer to me I'd check into this. Quite a few nice bikes and frames have shown up in the St. Louis CL lately.

Hrmm, St Louis isn't all that far away from Chicago. I'd really like to acquire an honest to goodness 'nice' C/V bike lol.

I've got some time off in 2 weeks...I might wait till then and turn it into an overnight road trip somewhere to pick up a bike or two.

I'm never sure what to make of French tandems. This one is a rider! In spite of the scary antique kid seat. $325

Gitane Tandem

We had a white one similar to this. Tandems of this vintage all suffered from the same ailment, a short rear cockpit. When Santana came out their bikes were a revelation, having plenty of space for the stoker. For ours I picked up an SR MTB seatpost and had it machined to fit the Gitane seat tube. It provided adequate setback but not an optimal pedaling position for the bride. Fortunately, our bike only saw casual use.

Price looks pretty damned good...it's not c/v, but it is the kind of bike many of us might enjoy. Even with the seatpost, the price makes this worth getting into IMO.

Jamis 55cm Touring Road Bike for Parts or Repair

Jamis 55cm Touring Road Bike for Parts or Repair - $215 (Exton)

image 5 of 16

condition: fair
make / manufacturer: Jamis
model name / number: Aurora

Jamis Aurora 2010 55cm Touring Road Bike for Parts or Repair.

There are two problems with the bike:
1. The threads on the drive-side crank arm are stripped so the pedal will not tighten onto arm.
2. The seatpost is stuck so it can't be adjusted.

The brakes have good stopping power, even in the rain.
The bike shifts through all gears smoothly.
The wheels turn true with no rubbing.
There are scratches on the paint but no dents.
Once repaired, this is a bicycle which can be used for commuting or touring.

The specs on the bike are listed below.
Some parts have been replaced in the last 6 months and are marked as "New".

Flat bar conversion on that Peloton is sad. The good: the bike was used and not discarded, looks like the original Superbe RD is still on there! The no thanks: flat bar. As an owner of a 1985 model like the one for sale, I wish it into the hands of a good new owner--still worth it. And for $260, subtracting all the parts gets you one heck of a frame for the money.

I seen this bike at the local thrift shop for $30 or $35.I know very little of the older bikes.
To small for me and I have way to many bikes. But being A steel lug got me looking it over for awhile.
When I was leaving the store the couple now selling the bicycle on Craigslist were buying the bike.
Damn flippers.
So if this bike is worth way more and I missed out.I do not want to know about it.

An interesting low-end Stella, but in pretty good condition. Could be a great rider. You must get better pickings at the thrift shops in Corvallis because of OSU. All I ever see for bikes at the thrift shops here in Salem are of the Magnum, NEXT, Mongoose, and tiny little BMX-style bikes for kids varieties. Even the Craigslist listings for Salem suck!
