Merckx Frame - $450 (Somerville)

make / manufacturer: Merckx
Road worn but wonderfull Merckx frame with Chris King headset.

Bike is suited for a rider around or above 6 feet tall. I will be home all week and you are welcome to check it out. Very light and a wonderful ride but I just need my commuter ride and this frame is better suited to someone who will take it out for some nice long rides.

I posted this bike in the summer when it was first listed for really cheap ($30?). They freaked and raised the price and it's been falling ever since then. Thought I'd repost it now that it's $50.

I'm buying no bikes till after xmas. Said that a couple of days ago.

So if anyone else in southern AZ wants a 56cm Ironman in red/white for $100, here ya go.

You can thank me by letting me ride it around the block sometime.

Good quality equipment but a little overpriced for used. You would pay around $600-$650 new for both, so I would think $400 would be a deal.

Pinarello Town Bike - Signed by Nani Pinarello!

This is a Pinarello town bike I purchased while living in Italy in 2003. We were living in Treviso which is where Pinarello is headquartered. Giovanni Pinarello (Nani) ran the shop in the city walls. I purchased it directly from him, along with 3 other bikes for my family. I had him sign the front fender in silver sharpie. He was a lovely gentleman who left us in 2014
This bike is beautiful with black paint and gold pin striping. I has seen very little use so there is no real wear. The brakes are pushrod and bellcrank style...no cables. The brakes operate radially, not the current caliper style.
The frame is a large. I am 6' 2" 200 lbs and it works great for me. It prefers to be ridden on flats.
It is a single speed, not sure of the gearing.
The head light and tail light work great.
It has a period bell I purchased and cleaned up.
It has the vintage look and feel of a 5os bike but is virtually new.
It has a black Brooks saddle and a "cafe lock" built into the frame. This stops the real wheel from turning.
The tail rack is sturdy enough to carry a child, even if not very comfortable.
Must be seen to be appreciated!

I'm tempted to rescue this and bring her back...

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bik/5918450269.html

De Rosa bicycle - $850

condition: good
make / manufacturer: De rosa
size / dimensions: 60
1980's De Rosa. Most things on it are Campi. Dodici rims have about 10 miles on them. I'm the second owner and put a few thousand miles on it as a fixed gear bike. I have the road kit for a few extra bucks if you'd like.
It def has some knicks of character from the years of actually using my bike and it not just being a high end expensive bike that I wax every Sunday.

I know DeRosas are desirable, but that seems like an awful lot of money for a beat up single-speed with no derailleurs, brakes, or bar tape. The seller couldn't even put air in the tires or clean the chain for the pictures. Am I missing something? What makes it worth the money?
