Considering it's wearing what appears to be a complete Campy group, it's towards the top end of the lineup.

Good looking Basso SLX at Pros closet for 299.
Vintage Basso Road Bike Frame Set 55cm LARGE Columbus Steel Italian Threaded | eBay

(Just looked again..."top tube rear brake cable mount is broken"...not sure what that means, unless it's the plastic insert where the cable comes out of the top tube for internal routing... I'd email for clarification if you're interested)

Thats correct with the 24" rear / 26" front. I had the exact bike and color. Everything appears correct and includes Cannondales first rear rack.

Its a funky machine, nostalgia tripper, something to tow the kids around the neighborhood with but a lousy trail bike. Price is right. Depending how one looks at it, worth far more for the parts, but that would destroy the whole point of having it. Whoever gets it, I hope they keep it complete.

For anyone looking for a 3Rensho in the LA area:

Rare bikes for sale

Selling my road bike collection. 3Rensho, 56cm, all Dura Ace, ceramic rims, freshly restored yellow paint with all factory decals, $800. Shimano Aero, 56cm, all Dura Ace, mint silver metallic, 1 of only 2 former Shimano show bikes, $800. 3Rensho, 57cm, all Dura Ace, freshly restored candy red with all factory decals, ceramic rims, $950. Trek 770 steel, 531 Reynolds tubing, 58cm, all Dura Ace, orange paint in good condition, great trainer bike, $400. Teledyne, 56cm, mix of Shimano parts, set up w/triple crank and low gears for serious hill training, original gray color, $400. Serious callers only.
No pics, but this could be a chance to pick up some rare beasts. Both Renshos seem to have been repainted, so it's anyone's guess what condition they are actually in.

That seems really high to me too, and it doesn't have the original components either which in my opinion makes it less of a vintage valued bike. I've seen all original 520's go for $350 that were in great condition. If it was in like new condition including the components it could sell for that much to the right person.

You know, I just glanced at the price & saw that the auction had ended.
So, no, I have no further knowledge of what happened to that beautiful Carlton.
To my way of calculating values on old bikes, that could bring $1,600.- $2,200.

My Raleigh/Carlton International ('74) was purchased 4 years ago when they were bringing $1,200. for a good original component bike with fair paint and regular chrome lugs.
The nice new paint on that light blue Carlton with those fancy lugs made it far more valuable, on a par or greater than a '70's Raleigh Professional (which can bring around $1600.).

It is a 'grail' bike to me. Wish I had the cash to buy it.

Looks, fast, short chainstay, lots of then-R&D...36 lbs! Whoa. Mid '70s Schwinn Sprint with a curved seat tube. $350 gets one a lot of bike and a ton of rarity for their money.

A bit of a weird combo of components, but this Trek 560 is a, to me solid (if not with some hidden) value. $360. Key points to me are: 1) 560 (race) frame 2) not cheap 7700 DA BB (I like them, but they are not the most user-friendly) 3) 7700 DA 9s down tube shifters (set to friction)...or is it a 9s rear cassette (looks like) with regular friction shifters up front? Hard to tell.. 4) Ruffy Tuffy tires (not cheap). This is the second vintage Trek I've seen in deep purple metallic, though to my knowledge it wasn't a very standard (if at all) color option?

Triple triangle funk on this mid-'80s Nashbar roadie for $300. Components look like later 6200-era 600. Blurry picture FTL...

For $200, a seemingly very nice updated-barn-find Nishiki. If my '83 Olympic 12 was anything to go by, the paint work on these is underrated. Very lovely deeper red metallic, and the geometry, in spite of lower-end componentry, is very well-proportioned--not clumsy or touring with ultra long chainstays, and not ultra short (nice as it is!) for race. My 27"/68.5cm Oly 12 even had a good proportion with its 45cm chainstays. I look upon Nishiki fondly. Buyer says 58cm, but I will say it's a 24" or 25"

Thats right, original price $400, now available at $780. I have a strong feeling this is a Seller I would not want to deal with.
