Oddball stepthrough Belgian bike with terrible photos and no detail! It's a Berseau-type mixte, appears to be a single-speed and might be 650B. Nice rack! There's a second ad for a Sears men's 3-speed that has a derailleur (possible, but unlikely on a U.S. market bike) so I would not rely on the sellers for reliable info.

An old Peugeot marked Helium. I had forgotten about this alternate brand the company used, and I always wondered what the idea behind it was.

Cross bikes normally have the cables routed above the top tube for A) mud protection and B) when you shoulder the bike for a run up you aren't hitting cables. This is a cross bike that got converted to stem shifters.

I think they were designed for touring. Triples and low rider rack mounts are rare on CX bikes.

We had one of these briefly. Ours was of the same vintage, one of those bent-lateral mixte (Berseau, or "cradle") framed bikes in white. Another case of "really cool bike but absolutely no room." Same 650B white tires, wingnuts, fenders, chainguard, derailleur 4-speed, totally cute.

I agree, but the cable routing is not very Touring bike, and the QR seatpost binder steers me away from touring as well.... but the lowrider mounts and triple say it's more touring than not. A google search shows the binder as OEM on the XR for a while, then switching off to the standard bolt. I'm thinking we are both right. Maybe it's an "off road" touring bike? The frame angles aren't very 'cross style either. I've seen pictures with 26 inch wheels as well.. I want one now.

It's probably one of the XR bikes Scot Nicol designed for REI. I've got it's MTB cousin, the Ponderosa, which is basically a budget Ibis Avion.

Forgive me, but this is the frame out of the box and before it was in the hands of the owner. This is a photocopy of the picture the shop guys took of the new custom-ordered Serotta Super Tourer in titanium, with the owner's own specifications of what he wanted, not what anyone at the shop advised him he should get. 69cm, and the guy is my height (I ride 62-64cm).

Fuso Mod 1 55 cm Cville Virginia $500

Dura Ace 6 speed. Columbus SL. He lists it as a 56 but I exchanged a few emails and it's actually a 55 with a 54 cm top tube. Too small for me. Pic looks like one of the top tube braze ons might be gone, but I didn't ask about it. Nice guy selling.
