Canadian made frame with Italian flair, reliable Japanese components (Shimano 105). I'm guessing its early 1990's era. Only $200

Should be a Tange 1 frame. Hesitated to post here, because it's a very half-assed single speed right now. But could be a nice guilt-free SS/ fixed, a base for a resto-mod, or return to a geared bike with period-correct parts. Anyways, it's clean-looking otherwise and cheap!

Palo Alto 1980's Biemmezeta Road Bike - $900

Palo Alto Bicycles started making frames in the 80's and commissioned a few frame builders known around the world to make them. There was only a few hundred of them made total. Biemmezeta (BMZ) made this particular frame and this is one of 30 from him. In short, this is an extremely rare and high quality vintage bicycle.
Mail order frames from Palo Alto. BMZ made the same frames for Performance's catalog as well. Decent frame, but the ad is hyperbolic.

Gone. Non-canti model but still sweet.
And that Nishiki for sure belongs here. I'd grab it if it were smaller. Tho the seat stay top stickers are annoying. Panasonic used those too.

Much better than decent, but the ad is also silly non-sense.

FWIW...these were SL, and quite fun sports tourers. It's an interesting marriage of the US sports tour "thing" and the italian panache.

My bride had one in that frame size. I built it up from a closeout frameset. We've had some teensy bikes in this household.

A friend of mine bought one of these from Performance back in the 80s, the frame was called the Blue Ridge. He built it up with Suntour Superbe. Nice riding bike. Still has it.

The palo altos are a bit nicer IMO, but the performance ones were a darn nice bargain. The difference could also have been model year.

I'd kill for a Ritchey Palo Alto.

I Like Big Bikes I Cannot Lie

1988 Bridgestone Synergy RB-1 Road Bike 61/63cm Dura Ace Ultegra - $550 (Carrboro)

"I am selling my rare vintage 1988 Bridgestone Synergy RB-1 road bike in size 63 cm (61cm C-C). The bike is in good condition and it came to me from its original owner. It has been upgraded with more modern components while still maintaining a classic road bike feel. This was the first year of the legendary road bikes designed by Grant Petersen. From Sheldon Brown:

"Bridgestone "road" bikes, particularly the legendary RB-1, combine frame design taken from classic Italian road bikes of the '70's with excellent Japanese workmanship and functional, reliable parts. The RB-1 was extremely popular with racers, and held its own against competing models costing hundreds of dollars more."

The frame and fork are straight and have no cracks, dents, or any other significant damage. The paint and decals are in good shape for their age, but there are chips and areas of wear from use in some spots shown in the pictures. The frame and fork were treated with Frame Saver when being rebuilt to prevent corrosion. The original 6-speed Biopace drivetrain has been upgraded to a 9-speed Dura Ace/Ultegra setup while still retaining downtube shifters. Additionally, all other components have been brought up to more modern spec with new parts. The vintage frame and newer components blend for a very pleasant bike to ride that is also a fairly capable road bike. It is a great bike, but the frame is a little too large for me and I would like to pass it on to someone else to enjoy. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Frame: CrMo triple-butted tubing; CrMo seat and chainstay; Italian-cut lug; forged micro-adjust dropout; brazed pump peg and chain hanger
