Very nice early era Cannondale. Kind of neat in revisiting these fat tubed ally American made bikes. The red with understated graphics is sharp. Sneaks under the Eroica rules. Interesting this example is mostly Campy, stock?

https:
//milwaukee.craigslist.org/bik/5988322290.html

https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/bik/5988322290.html

This is an original untouched 1986 SR900 road bike. It has campy brakes, pedals, crank, headset, stem, seat post, hubs, front derailer. It is a 9 out 10 condition. I am the original owner and have taken excellent care of it. It is 58cm.
Asking $595.00 OBO
Please call if interested, emails will not be answered.
Thank you

Sadly, Cannondales are verboten at Eroica. They only permit a few, named aluminum bikes.

its rules like that that turn people off. if the cut off is 1987 and its a stock bike from 1986... it should be a go. not to start up the complaint line again but seriously...

also that is a cool bike.

Yeah I am hoping to work up to participating in an eroica event at some point.( this year I hope to do a low-mile one) I am a bit out of shape and still trying to build up muscle mass/strength(it has improved some) from an old botched, surgical procedure on my leg veins.

I like mostly steel but when this Cannondale came up on ebay I had to have it. It's an 86 SR 800, (Black lightning before branded). with Superbe Pro Black Gold.

Love this bike and don't understand why it wouldn't be allowed in a eroica event.

I don't know anything about vintage Treks, but this one looks real pretty for a buck and a quarter.

I've been looking at that too. Couple of things bug me. Listed as new for one. Then he's say's it's been professionally serviced and is ready to ride. Yet the closeups show a really grimy, neglected bike....

No matter what rules they have, some people will be angry, or feel excluded. Yes, it's somewhat arbitrary...no one is forcing anyone to join, or to care. Everyone is welcome to organize an 80s aluminum bike ride and decide what gets in.

Well I don't have a huge collection of bikes and lets be honest the Black Lightening, wouldn't really be suited to your average eroica course anyway. I have 8 bikes and a couple frames/parts and the Cannondale would be low on totem pole choice.

Agreed on the SR as an Eroica mount, but I'd ride my '88 ST in a hearbeat. Has a compact crank and a 34 big cog, takes 32's, rides well on gravel. SR would be awesme on a paved course on 25's, but that's a little narrow for Eroica roads.

The Seller even had a best offer up and I got it @ $320 + shipping. Yeah those Gold/Blk Superbe bits are like jewelry. Nice shape too, have toyed with the thought of gold plating them and finding a special, yet to be determined, black frameset to build the groupo up with. The Alumminati probably wouldn't approve, but the Superbe Pro bits were really the reason I wanted the bike.

I have a Viscount also, neat bikes and seem to be pretty cheap.

This is a steal, the bike looks to be in great shape, and it's my size. But I won't ask you to grab it for me. I just picked up a very nice 1988 Miyata 615, which has 700c rather than the 27" wheels on a 1982 touring bike.

Hah, the next custom bike I have built will sport that color scheme.

A southern Minnesota forum member has a Kvale painted in that scheme.

A real knockout.

BTW No clue about Barclay either.
