I'm curious how high it will go.

Better get your checkbook ready, as the Della Santa he sold ended up over $1,100.

I think we do the same searches because you often post bikes I'm watching! I wonder how often we've bid against each other. I'm interested as well but imagine it will get past what I'm ready to pay. Posted measurements looked a little weird to me also. 55 seat tube, 59 top tube? Looks like a 55 or 56 square to me.

Good luck!

I'm in NOLA this weekend and see this on the local CL:

Original Schwinn Parimount

1970! Original decals, recently painted by the Schwinn company in Chicago. It hasent been ridden since the paint job. Outfitted with campagnolo components, derailiers, bars, seat post, rims, breaks and a cat eye strada computerized speedometer (for distance and speed) Set up for touring with Jim Blackburn rack (with bag) No rust on chrome anywhere. It has been newly restored to factory condition. It comes with everything except my brooks seat, although I do have a seat that will come with it.
It should go for at least 1000 min but the money is needed ASAP so best offer. If you have any questions please call or text anytime. Thank you.

I don't know Schwinns, but that ad copy sounds a little strange to me, even ignoring the obvious title misspelling. "Recently painted by the Schwinn company in Chicago"?? Huh?

If this is legit, there might be a deal to be had, though not for me. I'm at the point of n+1 on bikes means n-1 on wives.

Same source of this one clean 531 Raleigh Team w/black Campy bits that closed last week. Worth it pretty much, and fit me, but little maxed out on expenditures for the time being.

I have too many bikes already, but I've always been fond of Moultons. ATTN socal people: Here is a Moulton with a bonus Huret Jubilee derailleur. Somebody buy this so I am not tempted. It'd make a nice C&V stealth city bike.

I watched his last round and now this. Definitely an excellent selection, sadly all in the current lineup are too small for me. But it sounds like there are more to come so I may yet get my chance ... Good to know the seller is a forum member.

Price seems a bit optimistic, but I really like mine a lot. Excellent ride characteristics and uncommonly good tire clearances.

Any Chicagolanders know the back story of this C+V sell off?

"Butt Ugly" Schwinn Twins

(I will also post this in the tandems forum, and perhaps it belongs in the "Wacky" thread, but I'm posting it here too, so there. Besides, they are from 1971? Entirely for amusement; no wagering please.)

A pair of Schwinn Twinns! - $225 (Burlington)

"Okay here's the deal the price is for the PAIR of bikes. You must take both. The brown one is a 1971. It is butt ugly but it is rideable. New tires and front cable. The green one is a 1973. Restore it or spend a little effort on it and have a pair of butt ugly Schwinn Twinns! Great rat rod bike for car shows! Kind of vintage, kind of an antique. Email or text 336-seven zero seven 06 three nine. As long as it is up it is for sale. Scammers, please note that I report all to the local law enforcement agency to investigate. It's entertaining to put up with you, but enough is enough! Thanks for reading my ad!"

https://greensboro.craigslist.org/bik/5999597629.html

That's only $112.50 per tandem, or $66.25 per rider. (Apparently a child rides free on one?)

The Doublemint Twins immediately come to mind.

Downside, by the looks of the mailbox in the background, this is the house where Rust lives.
