1984-ish Univega Competizione

Somebody please buy this before I have to. Superbe Pro, etc. Too small for me.

Vintage Univega early 80's- Road bike - $120

Vintage Univega with original parts. Have had some people tell me this is an early 80's... possibly late 1970's. I'm betting on about '82 or '83. Great bike for a restore project or to turn into a fixie. Overall it's in really nice condition, just needs some TLC.

Lugged Chromoly frame with some cool accents at the joints (see pics).
Missing the saddle (but I might be able to scrounge one up) and the tops of the brake levers.
The tires appear to be new, with almost no miles on them. Giant slicks 700c x 25c.
Araya wheels that are in awesome condition.
The vintage toe clip pedals are really cool.
Vintage Suntour rear derailer.
Vintage Nitto model 55 handlebars, still shiny.

I've looked up the parts on eBay and could part it out for a bit more than what I'm asking. That's a bit of a hassle and, honestly, I'd rather find it a good home with someone who's looking for a project.

Asking $120

email if interested.

Other than maybe the command shifters, there is not much to "part out and cash in". Bike is worth maybe $200-250 methinks.

1989 Trek 400 made in USA 54.5cm - $300 (Allston)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
(google map)

make / manufacturer: Trek
model name / number: 400
size / dimensions: 54.5 x 54.5
54.5 ST and 54.5 TT, this is considered a medium size frame. Great for someone 5'6" - 5'10" depending on your body geometry. Good bike for commuting, training, or even racing.

I got this bike over the summer and put some training miles on it. I did a few half centuries to NH and the South Shore - it's a solid ride and high-quality frame material. It rides how a high-quality steel frame should: like butter.

Lugged frame with True Temper steel (this was hot stuff in the frame building world).
Nice paint, theres a couple of scratches (no dings/dents).

700c wheel set with Maillard hubs.
New 700x23c Kenda tires. These have about 50 miles on them, pretty cool hybrid tire for city riding and dirt trails (intended for grass racing).

SunTour Edge components. I upgraded the brakes to Shimano Tiagra, but you can have the originals too.

If I parted this bike out I could cash in, but I'm looking to downsize rather quickly. If you have any questions please text me.

Hell, there's gotta be a couple of hundred bucks' worth of cable housing on it...

If this fit me I would be interested, worth keeping an eye on. A different branded Tommasini Super prestige from the looks of it. (Don't really see that many Columbus SPX tubing framesets)

I may have shared this one before, and if so, I apologize for duplicating.

Lugged. Italian. Celeste. Campy.

Bianchi Eros road bike 60cm -- 5'10-6'2 - $425 (Jamaica Plain)

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Bianchi
model name / number: Eros
size / dimensions: 60cm
Selling a beautiful 1998 Bianchi Eros road bike with their classic Celeste blue paint job. 24-speed, steel frame, Italian made. Just back from the bike shop for a tune up, so it's rider ready come spring...or right now.

Comes with the full Bianchi/Campagnolo set up: Avanti brake/shift levers, upgraded Campy derailleur, Bianchi seat. Plus, there's a back fender to keep your butt dry.

Only drawback is that the cassette and chain will need replacing soon, but still very rideable as is. This a very well-made bike-- I'm only selling it to free up some space.

Ideal for riders 5'10-6'2

$425 OBO

"This McLean Bike was purchased at Toga Bike Shop Greensboro, NC in 1980. Toured with it for awhile. Now I'm in the process of getting the dust off and will sell.
Cleaned the dust off because unfortunately due to disability I can not ride. Its been in a well protected basement for years and now a little cleaner. Not sure of price; let me know.

(Off topic). I think it's unreasonable to expect that there'll be no duplication here. It's tedious to scroll back (and how far back should one go?) and check before posting here.

I'd rather err on the side of us linking too many great bikes for sale than risk missing one because people are afraid of getting attacked for posting something that's already been posted. Besides, it happens what, once a month or so? Not a big deal.

How many entire threads (chain lube, tires, etc) are dupes? That's a bigger issue and easier to reduce by searching first.

Not exotic, but a his 'n' hers pair of Special Road Racers (pre-Dynamic series), probably offered by the original owner couple.

https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/6008975422.html

Fuji racers 1980 his and hers - $110

make / manufacturer: Fuji

1980 Fuji classic ten 10 speeds men's and women's mixte. Very few miles on them so they are in great condition, just dusty from years of storage. They will need cleaning, adjusting, and new tires/tubes. Including rear carrier rack for panniers or saddlebags. $110 each

Some here would pay that just for the original Primus pumps! At least those look like the original Primus pumps!

And FWIW, those are older than 1980. 1976 was the last year that the S-10S was called the Special Road Racer.

That's a smokin' deal for somebody looking for a nice titanium bike. Resell the components to get back half the cost of the bike, rebuild it with modern stuff, and you'd have a like-new titanium Litespeed for under a grand.

edit: going to go get them tonight. I think these are going to the co-op - be great for some students to do a basic tune and ride!
