Lemond Poprad Reynolds 853 Cross Frame and Fork, $250 in Otsego, MI. 55cm, a touch too small for me, which is probably for the best.

Man, if I didn't have my '85 and know that the bike is indeed RED (and metallic red to boot!) not orange in this over-lit photo, I'd be uninterested as orange is a color I dislike. The blue bar tape--why do people do this? It doesn't match!

Regardless, it is a Peloton, so it's an absolute gem. '84 had the steeper HT geometry compared to the nearly identical at-a-glance 1985 model. The '84 shared basic geometry (via the catalog) with the Super Sport, but it was Columbus SL/SP vs. Tange Champion #2 (surprisingly heavy given its rank). HT/ST angles for my SS are an as-measured 74.3°/73.1° at the 25" frame size.

In today's excitement: It's a 1984 TEAM FUJI for $100! Seller claims to not be a bike guy but can't read a frickin' down tube with words printed on it??? But goes to the effort to find and list the serial number?!? People! Holy cow. It's been brifter-ized, which means it's been made to ride around, which is good that it's been used. Barring a major dent (it looks fine), beneath the modernity is a good old soul. I feel like this has been the one TF that has kicked around in the area for a few years, always for a killer price, and I keep missing or passing up the opportunity to take it in, restore it, and get it back on the road as proud as she was 33 years ago. Hot off the CL presses (less than a day)!

Thank you all for the assist, especially @crank_addict, who has given me additional information outside of the forum. You guys are not good for my marital relationship.
Congratulations! That is a beautiful bike. I always liked that color scheme. Just in case you don't already know it, the cable anchor bolt is a 3.5mm Allen. Be careful with the small parts on the cable adjuster at the top they can be hard to find.

WE have similar tastes, @RiddleOfSteel. I own an '85 Peloton that I absolutely adore, best riding bike in my fleet and the only one on which I'll run with tubulars. Incredibly light and agile. The bike I mean, wish I could say the same for myself.

Look at the crown race. The crown is not flush with the headset. It's been hit. The fork is bent.

What size is yours? Mine is a 25" and even at that size there is no mushing around. She is the Queen of my fleet and will forever be adorned with Dura Ace. I flirt with the thought of switching from 9-speed (with brifters) back to 10-speed with down tube shifters. Even lighter weight, but a little flighty on crummy roads while reaching down to shift. Maybe some day.........

For just $250, you can have a classic short-coupled frame Schwinn Sprint! 36 lbs and a classic bottom bracket to love and cherish. It would be fun to see how much weight you could take out of it with modern stuff. I'd say if you could duck into the mid to upper 20s, the geometry is going to be sporty enough to be a surprise--find out what all that claimed Schwinn engineering could really do!

A cyclist after our own hearts, happened upon a tragically all-painted (pink in this case) 1983 Trek 400 and got her much better looking and roadworthy. For $120 it's hard to go wrong at all! The Mangalloy tubing is smooth-riding stuff and the real paint underneath actually looks to be in good shape, clearcoat included. It's got a lot going for it, IMO.

I used to own the exact same model (Fiorelli Milano San Remo #5) in the exact same color. The tubing is Columbus Aelle. Mine had a mix of franken-parts when I bought it; ended up parting it out and selling the frame and parts separately.

Hey Riddle, mine's a 58cm - that's as low as I can go. It was almost mint with all original parts except for the saddle I replaced, a wonky ugly padded thing, and some missing decals I had to re-create. I was told the previous owner had two of these and this was his backup. The thing had barely been ridden.

It's an incredibly nice ride.
