So should we assume that 'facilitate' in this case means 'ride it around for a week or two just to make sure everything works before packing and shipping it'?

Nah. Facilitating can mean different things to different people, but in my case I'd simply take delivery on the lucky buyer's behalf (in the event the seller doesn't wish to transact remotely) and hand it off to a shop (which NYC is blessed to have multitudes of) for disassembly and shipping to its final destination.
