The seller mislabels the bike (got the year right), a 1983 Trek 630 in good shape for just $300. Certainly a solid buy. The small frame size will be great for someone.

Tall RB-1 set up for an even taller rider.

https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/6033528728.html

Bridgestone RB1 - $300 (Chesterfield)

make / manufacturer: Bridgestone
model name / number: RB1

Bridgestone RB1 in good shape. Tires are two years old, shifts like a dream. Steel is real, and this bike will make for a happy rider. It's a large frame, I've got an extended seat post as I'm 6'8" but this bike could easily fit riders in the 6' range as well.

Newer frame with vintage components? Is that normal practice on contemporary vintage style bikes? I guess it would look so wrong with current components.

^^ That bottle is a little much on that cruiser. That is the original hybrid! Well not counting the Volpe. Bianchi got the drop on the industry, even Ben Lawee, and had 700c hybrids in '89 most of the rest fell over themselves to have 3 or 4 by '90

I am not sure but you see a lot of that C-Rec on Hetchins of all years. Personally if I ever get another one it will be al Chorus, assuming I can find nice enough stuff, from '88-90

But yeah all black 11 speed would look heinous on that frame

Dare to dream. I'll leave their beauty to others to debate, but the pricing is absurd for what's being offered...most particularly on the first one. 7k? For a mid-80s Hetchins? Have fun with that.

None of these are, IMO, particularly desirable examples of the brand.

The Magnum is listed as 2010 so it is even newer than the one I had.

That looks like my beloved Alyeska, but much, much bigger. The Alyeska came with black foam grips. I've broken the weld at the top of the right-side seat stay twice, but I'm not sure that points to a weak point on all Alyeskas.

Right? I'm not sure I could bring myself to actually ride it! I don't own any wall-hangers, so this bike would be too much for me, personally. But definitely nice to look at.

@RichSPK

I have a Raleigh Alyeska and always enjoyed the comfy, stable ride. Never had a problem with the seat stays. Since yours broke once, the second break might be related. Also love the color and accents.

It is just beautiful and functional, with retrofriction shifters. C-Record is nice but has a bit more bulk to its beauty and the Delta brakes can be troublesome setting up and if you happen to put a fatter tire on you may need to readjust them up a little.

Oh right these are the uber rare Saphireno Chorus brakes

You need to make them shiny! The above pictured Bianchi I bought new, as frame/fork in '90 and aside from built it with some used and some new bits and worked hard to keep it shiny
