Well, that Equipe is on Craigslist right now. Sounds like shill bidding on the Ebay auction.

'87 Lotus eclair touring bike, a bit rough but good price.

The asking price is ridiculous for a rolling basket case. Obrentharris sold one in the classifieds not long ago for a much more realistic $650 for a NICE example, ready to ride.

This looks interesting, a SLX Mondonico wif Superbee, might be a tady spendy at 1K

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/5983398079.html

I can't decide if this Torelli of pretty or gaudy. I love the red and green chain wheels but with the paint scheme they may be over the top. Other than the Columbus decals on the fork no details on frame materials. We never sold Torellis but the sales rep kept schlepping them into the shop and I always thought they seemed like nice frames, especially when a SL could be had for about 200 less than a Geurcotti

There's a shop here in town that carries both Torelli and Mondonico framesets and bikes. They are both very nice, but the Mondonicos particularly. That is a very nice one.

Yeah, that color scheme on the Torelli, whoa. Nothing screams "I'M ITALIAN!" quite like that. Or perhaps "MERRY CHRISTMAS!"

I'm thinking the bike is about a 58 cm.

I just "sold" my Merckx track frame for a very good buyers price and guy just decided he didn't want it I guess. He didn't tell me though until I asked him after waiting a couple of days for payment. I wonder if responsibility and honor are vanishing commodities or the internet just makes it seem that way.

Shady people will be shady people, no matter what the medium. Unfortunately, eBay's policies allow folks to do things that are less honorable...backing out after winning an auction, re-listing an item over and over despite shill bidding, etc. Online reputation systems have a ways to go IMO. But we still play along and hope for a good deal!

59 cm, all original except for new tires, benotto tape (vintage and the correct color, medium blue) and a replacement water bottle, have the original tires and water bottle if you want them, second from the top of the line in 1984, this bike is in excellent +++ condition, minimal paint dings, no evidence of a crash anywhere, underrated high end bike at the time, and now, Todd
