No pictures, though the red did look a little darker than the brochure and other pictures. Could have been a repaint, but the TREK labels/banners looked in great shape. The bike was hanging from their tall ceiling. Geometry is very close to my later, much less rare 560. Of course, with a very rare frameset in my size (even rarer), I am naturally attracted to it. Decisions (with no room to spare)...decisiions...

Looks like they have quite a few bikes hanging from the rafters. I'll definitely stop by next time I'm in town.

I think that's actually a picture of Velocult, not the Portland Community Cycling Center.

The coffee/beer bar built into the shop is

Every time I go there it seems a few people do.. @jyl had a regular table reserved until he decided to go back to gainful employment.

Next time you stop in town, be like @nlerner and let us know! Many of us have "visitor bikes", if you can hang around on a weekend, you could get a ride in. If you go to Velocult and Sky (the proprietor) is around, see if you can get the local tour of the basement.

Seems like a lot of people on this forum are from Portland. I may actually be taking a short vacation/research excursion out there at some point. I'm looking to relocate at some point...sort of had it with Chicago.

Why not, everyone else here is from somewhere else!

If/when you decided to visit, give us advance notice so we can give you the full @nlerner.

I've been thinking about PNW too, specifically Eugene or coast in that area. Used to live in SF Bay Area but unless my Vintage Bike Hot or Not? App goes public for millions, won't be able to afford that place again.

That reminds me of 3Cross Brewing Company in Worcester, MA. They didn't have as many bikes (and I don't think what they have is for sale), last time I was there, but it was similar.

Vintage Super Le Tour in eye-catching Chrome. 19" frame size. Some small rust but overall good condition. New handlebar wraps and seat. Additional info:

"X-tra Lite" series 10 speed. Imported. Down tube shifters. 38 to 100 gear range. Shimano 600 rear derailleur. Shimano 60 front derailleur. Alloy cotterless crank set. Chrome-moly lugged frame with double butted top and down tubes. Chrome tipped tubular fork. Alloy stem and road racing handlebars. Round head badge. Side pull Compe G brakes without suicide levers. Quick release hubs. Alloy rims.
Eye-catching indeed. My chrome 25" version certainly did, from it's shackles of surface rust. Since this one is in much better shape to start, a lot less time will need to be spent to really make it glow. I think, actually, one of the most striking things about it is the slightly sloping top tube and overall modern angles on such a small frame. Looks fantastic. And whatever drop bar Schwinn spec'd on these has a beautiful curve to them.

Also, that Dawes in my size a few posts down, gorgeous bike. And those rims!
