I can't dispute that. The 1980 Voyageur had pretty good tire clearance, but it still had caliper brakes, lacked braze-ons for racks and I'm not sure the geometry was tuned for touring. The tubing was also not as good as some of the later models had. I think the earlier Treks checked most of the boxes except for canti brake mounts and if you were open to a re-paint that could be pretty easily addressed.

You clearly know what you're looking for though. Best of luck in the search!

Yeah, looks like 80-82 was straight-up 4130 tubing, whereas the Tange Champion #2 and Columbus tubing came later.

Don't know about these or the pricing for em...

Suntour Blue Line group - RD, FD, DT shifters, Brake levers - $50

"I'm upgrading the components on my 1978 Raleigh Super Course from the 12 (2*6) speed downtube shifters to 18 speed STI components. I'm selling the both derailleurs, the downtube shifters, and the brakes from this bike. There are some scuffs on the brakes, as shown in the pictures, but otherwise in everything in very good condition. This set would be a good for someone trying to build up a vintage road bike. Happy to include the original shift cables, too (saves you $10)."

Congratulations, Mongol, you overbid me on them. I think you got them for a real good price, considering they are NOS. I have a spare set and don't really have a specific use for them but I've always thought they were great shifters. Glad they went to someone on the forum.

Weird mix of parts but this Bianchi has been listed for awhile now, I bet there would be a bit of wiggle room on the price...

This is it's 2nd or 3rd time up, the local pickup is putting a damper on it. Decent-looking bike too. I agree, the bike behind is intriguing...

Quite an interesting collection of parts, but check out all the paperwork that comes with this one:

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/6107266142.html

If I were still in the market, I'd snap this up in a heartbeat (I have no red bike).

Some pics from the auction - sorry, dude didn't have a driveside shot:

I saw that, too. I think it's one of those forward-raked posts - for TT/triathlon peeps to allow them to sit further forward.

He did state he changed things around to suit his position as he got older, so my guess is based on that statement.
